Hello! Let me pamper your furry friend while you're away. I work from home (on a PT basis) and my schedule's pretty flexible so I'm set up pretty well to let pups out during the day and keep them company. Dogs are welcome on furniture and will have access to whatever floor I'm on. My house is a three story townhome. The main level is hardwood floors & tile and the pups can roam around freely. There is a baby gate blocking the stairs to the upper level and a closed door to the basement. Upstairs is hardwood and downstairs is carpet.
I was raised with all sorts of animals and have had dogs of my own since I was 8. I worked a lot with a Boston Terrier rescue group in Southern California where I fostered 10 -12 rescue dogs. I watched several dogs through DogVacay two years ago.
Unfortunately, I lost my best buddy last month (July) at the age of 16 years and miss having a furry friend around the house. So your dog will get lots of attention from me.
I have a 1 1/12 year old daughter who loves dogs and is pretty good around them. As Muggsy was 16 years old when he passed she knows not to bug dogs unless I tell her it's ok. She's not perfect of course but I haven't seen her go straight at a dog and try to hug him! But because she's so young and toddling around at a low height your dog must be good around kids.
I have a small back patio made of brick with gravel and wood chips around the parameter. It has a secure brick wall that is LOW on one side. So it is not a place where I can leave a dog by itself. But it's a nice little shaded area to go outside for a little while. I live in a quiet neighborhood with lots of green space and a rigidly enforced slow speed limit.
Your dog (s) will have lots of potty breaks during the day and short walks depending on the weather. Because I have to work a bit, care for Little Miss after 5 and take care of personal things I'm not really set up to take dogs on long walks nor do really active dogs appeal to me. I guess I'm seeking cuddly little things or "gentle giants". I'm happy to give your dog 2-3 meals per day, medication and toss around a ball for little pups. Seniors are fine. I might be able to handle puppies. I'm only taking one dog at a time right now but will definitely consider siblings (small). Must meet first and no barkers.
I can probably pick up/drop off your pup in the local area. Please ask any questions. I look forward to hearing from you.
Pictures are of my last condo but they show some of the pups I took care of 2 summers ago and Muggsy Bogues. I'll get some current ones up as soon as I can.
