Our usual hosts were unable to look after our 7 month old Pup, Poppy, so we searched on Dog Vacay for an alternative host to care for Poppy whilst we had a weekend break away. I did a meet and greet with Jena and I was impressed with the purpose built outdoor space that she had for the dogs. It was fenced in, with woodchipping on the ground, plenty of water and some shelter for the dogs if required. Jena did inform us that she was a dog walker in the local area and would need to crate Poppy for periods of time during the day whilst she was out walking other dogs, if she did not feel it was safe to take Poppy along with her. Although this did not really sit well with me I knew that Poppy would need some time out during the day and some space to herself so this is something I accepted. During the 3 nights that Poppy stayed with Jena we only received 1 photo of Poppy playing with other dogs and no further updates about how she was getting on. Our usual Host would send at least 1 photo along with an update on Poppy every evening. At one point I even text Jena to check that everything was okay with Poppy as she had never stayed with Jena before and she is still only a puppy. Although I did get a swift response to this query, it would've been nice not to have had to ask. Although Jena handles her Dog Vacay visitors very differently from our usual Dog Vacay hosts; Poppy seemed to be fairly happy when we collected her and looking as good as when we dropped her off.
