My name is Miranda and I have a huge heart for animals! I have a years experience as a veterinary assistant and 3+years experience as a dog walker and pet sitter. I am currently working part time at IDEXX Laboratories and have some medical knowledge of both canines and felines. I recently acquired a degree in marine biology and have 3 cats of my own. I am very comfortable with handling animals. One of my favorite past times is to play and snuggle with my fur babies. I am located in Decatur and have a flexible schedule and would be delighted to take care of your pets! I have had great success with pet sitting/walking in the past as all of my clients can attest to that! I have included a bit of a break down of the services I offer and the environment in which your pet would endure if I were to look after your animals. Please see below. I look forward to being in touch with you!
My Pets: As much as I want to make your pets comfortable, I also want to make mine happy as well. For the safety of both of our pets (if they will be staying under the same roof at the same time), I think it is important to tell you a bit about my pets and their characteristics. My 3 cats roam the house as they please. Their names are Luma (4.5yrs), Archimedes (3yrs) and Lily (2yrs). Each one has their own unique personality and I love the interaction between them all!
In Home Boarding/Overnight Care: I would love to house your fur baby at my home! I am all about making your pet as comfortable as possible. My ultimate goal is to create an environment with the least amount of stress on your pup or kitty. If your babe is okay to be around cats, they can relax with my 3 felines. If not, I am happy to quarantine the cats in a different room to make your pet more comfortable. The sleeping situation is flexible. I can have your pet sleep with me in my bedroom, have them crated in their own crate or gate them in within the large kitchen downstairs.
Free Roam: I have 0.5 acres of fenced in yard that your doggy can play freely in! The fence is a mesh wire type that is secured to the ground so small dogs cannot get loose.
Specialties: I have experience working with geriatric pets as well as young dogs. Puppies can be a lot to handle! I have helped past clients correct bad behavior as well as help train them on the leash while reinforcing consistency. I am currently helping take care of my mothers 9 year old cat that was diagnosed with Diabetic Nueropathy and I administer insulin daily. Needless to say, I am not shy to giving medication subcutaneously or orally (although I do not have experience giving intravenously).
Pet Walking: My dog walking style is totally dependent on the clients request and what your pet desires. Oakhurst dog park is right around the corner and if your pup is friendly, we can have playtime in the community area. Or if your doggy is more independent, we can take a long walk on the private trails situated in the shade. If you prefer short walks, we could take a quick 5 minute walk around the neighborhood.
