Hi, I'm Milo.
I joined my new family in March of 2016, and I have the best human family on the planet! I was only 8 weeks old when I came to live with them in a place they call "West Liberty", and since then, they taught me so much! I can now walk on a leash, wait to go outside before pottying, sit and be patient, and I know how to be kind to other animals and humans. Because I've done so well in my training, they said I can start recruiting new furiends for playdates and sleepovers!
So listen up future furiends!
Here are some things that would make you and I best buds:
At our house, I am the life of the party, but what I really love is when I go visit my best friend Charlee down the street. Charlee is much bigger than me, but she knows when we play not to be too ruuuff.
---I'd like all my new furiends to know how to play nice with little dogs like me.
Another thing I need in a furiend, is to help me take care of my little brother and sister. (I call them my "littles" because even though they are 5 and 6, I'm basically a teenager in human years.) They might get scared if any of my new furiends start growling and nipping.
---I'd like all my new furiends to know how to behave around little humans.
And then there's Otto. Otto is kind of a weirdo, (he poops in a box of rocks in the basement!) and he's a really funny looking dog...he loves his humans and tolerates me but can be a "scaredy-cat" when my furiends are over so he'll probably just hide out 'til the party's over. If he does come out to play, it's important that my furiends don't chase him and scare him away.
---I'd like all my new furiends to not be mean to the "scaredy-cat".
Once I get to meet my new furiends we can tell each other all our secrets and stories! Like the times I had to go get shots from the doctor, or how I have to eat an icky pill each month to protect me from fleas. If you haven't got your shots or had your medicine for fleas, you're one lucky dog! But, unfortunately, mommy says you can't come over if you haven't been protected. :(
---I'd like all of my new furiends to be up to date on shots and flea free!
If you decide to be my furiend there are a couple of other things you might want to know:
---1. My mommy, Dana, works M-F in Iowa City and has weekends, evenings and most holidays off. Usually, my daddy, Bryan, is in and out each day and will take us out to potty and play, but when there's no one around, you'll have to stay in the crate 'til someone gets home if you're still learning to not chew on things or make messes.
---2. Before my parents leave in the morning, we get to go on a walk and run around in the backyard to get some exercise. We also do this at the end of the day, and of course there's playtime all day in the house as long as we have been taught to not make messes.
---3. If you are still not quite sure if you're ready to behave with the little humans, you can come over on days/nights when they aren't there which include Tuesdays, Thursdays, and every other weekend.
---4. If you want to come over and check out my puppy pad before committing, my mommy and daddy says that's totally cool. My mommy can even come pick you up and drop you off when you decide to stay.
I hope we get to sniff butts real soon!
