Hello, everyone! my name is Michael and I live in the Inwood park section of Manhattan. I share a two bedroom apartment with my grandparents and our cats. I am a student and so will spend 2 -3 days actually at school (my schedule for the spring 2016 semester is strictly Tuesdays and Fridays for the majority of the day). However, the rest of my time is flexible.
My neighborhood is very good for dogs; I live right next to Inwood park. It's the largest plot of natural parkland in all of Manhattan. Plenty of open space for playtime, dog runs for more contained play and socializing, and long winding paths for more solitary dogs.
As stated previously I do have cats in my home. 2 are elderly and generally keep to themselves. The other 2 are younger and more social. If this worries you, I'm totally willing to cordon off a space specifically for your dog.
My experience with dogs began when i was a child; I grew up around dogs. My father always had a dog and my mother always had dogs as well. Seeing the way they handled and trained their dogs and how the dogs responded really helped me understand dogs and all animals; they all have their personalities and preferences. My experience with animals continued on into my teens with cats and helping some close friends look after their pets during our high school years. now in my adult life I am often the one my friends call on to watch their pets while they are away.
