About Shannon

20 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
Being a fierce, fun-loving runner who stops and says "Hi" every time I see a dog, shows that I might have a slight obsession for 4 legged furry animals. I spend my weekday hours teaching High School Science (yes, that is Bill Nye, The Science Guy in my photo). I value the importance of animals and teach a veterinary science course to my students so I am aware of anatomy/physiology of animals as well as their needs and care. Having experience working a vet assistant in college, helped me pursue my love of animals. After completing my Masters Degree in Zoology over two years ago and being around dogs my entire life, dog sitting seemed like the next logical and enjoyable step in life.

I enjoy dog running, walking, and sitting on my mornings/evenings and weekends. If your dog is athletic, I would love to run him/her 4-6 miles, although I have been known to out run a dog or two! I am also okay with walks or strolls in the park. I have no problem spoiling a dog. You might catch me throwing a mean chuck-it or sneaking an extra scoop of peanut butter in a kong. Overnight(in your house) dog sitting is my specialty since I have the opportunity to give your dog my undivided attention! ***Note: I charge an additional dog rate of $10 if you have more than one furry child. I'm also open to taking your pup(s) on field trips to the beach or extended hiking trips. Happy dogs make me happy!

Originally from Michigan, I grew up on a farm raising chickens, pigs, horses, and growing veggies. My childhood dog was a Dalmatian named Chocolate chipped Cody. Although I miss Michigan, I am proud to call the Bay Area my home!

Can't say enough good about Shannon taking care of our dogs!
We had another great experience with Shannon watching our 2 Goldens! She was here for 6 days. We can tell they were spoiled with lots of walks/runs and attention! She sent photos too which is always reassuring when we are away.
Really enjoyed having Shannon stay with my two quirky but sensitive italian greyhounds. Sincerely appreciated the photos and texts about how they were doing. In addition to taking care of my dogs, taking them for a walk when the skies cleared of rain, she put my trash cans out on trash day. I couldn't have asked for a better dog sitter in my house.
Shannon was absolutely fantastic, from start to finish--a complete professional who also seemed to really enjoy our pets. She stayed at our home with our two cats and two dogs, including a not-quite-housetrained puppy. I loved that she sent lots of photos and updates, and was very patient with my pages of instructions. The house was very neat and clean when we returned--which is always such a relief after walking in the door from time away. It was such a comfort to know our animals were in capable hands. I would be thrilled to have Shannon look after them again! I can't recommend her highly enough.
I cannot recommend Shannon more highly! She stayed in our home to take care of anxious 2 year old dog. Not only was Winnie super happy when we arrived home, but the house was cleaner than we had left it, the bedding had been stripped and placed in the laundry room, and there were fresh baked cookies and a card waiting for us! Shannon even came over the week before to meet us prior to the stay and go through everything in person. Definitely recommend, and will be seeing Shannon again. Thank you, Shannon for total peace of mind! (And the pictures sent to us, too, while we were away!)
Shannon was wonderful with our two Golden Retrievers! She took them on long walks and sent us photos of their experiences. It is apparent that she loves animals. She also left our house spotless and even washed the sheets on the bed where she slept.
Shannon cared for Charley and Jack while we were away for a weekend. She was incredible! Charley and Jack loved playing ball with her, playing with their toys, and just snuggling. Shannon kept in touch and sent us some super cute photos! Charley and Jack are excited for their next visit with Shannon and so are my husband and I!
Shannon is easy going and our dog was happy with her!
Shannon was wonderful with our dogs! We can't say enough about the great job she did with them. We heard from her every day. When we got home, our house was spotless and she left homemade brownies!
Shannon took very good care of my dog and kept me up to date on how she was doing with photos and comments. She is extremely attentive and I will definitely use her again in the future.
Shannon was great. Gave our dog lots of love and care. She sent pictures and text often to let us know how our dog was doing.
Shannon was great! She sent us regular updates on how the weekend was going, and we came home to a very happy dog. We are definitely planning on booking Shannon again for our next trip, and we highly recommend anyone else does the same as well.
Shannon was fantastic with our dog, who can be a real handful. She was very calm and nurturing, and didn't hesitate to contact me with any issues or positive feedback. I think she should quite teaching high school(which she is probably stellar at as well) and become a full-time dog walker/sitter. Her passion and love for dogs really showed in her interaction and time spent with my dog. She is a sincere dog person who I will hire every time for my dog sitting and walking needs.
