About Diane

25 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
I am very lucky to have a career that allows me to make my own hours and spend lots of time with the most special creatures on earth. I am a private chef and dog lover extraordinaire.

My home is 4 blocks from the beach and I take your sweet pup on walks to the beach and dog park as well. I have a garden to let them out during the night and we have lots of playtime and walks during the daytime. As well as a spacious home to share with them.

I offer my one-on-one services for your sweet pup in my home. If you require sitting for more than one pup, sitting services will take place in your home.

I do not stay in homes with cats nor do I have any cats. I am very allergic to cats. Sorry kitties...I do think you are special too.

If you love your four legged children as much as I know you the best for them by having their stay be all about them while you are traveling.

Please note, I do not accept dogs that are not fixed/neutered.

If you are in need of a half day extension to the 24 calendar to accommodate your travel needs, please let me know at the time of booking. I am happy to work with you. Half day extensions are available if need be.

I am a volunteer dog walker and fundraiser with the CACC (chicago animal care and control) and I am dog/cat First Aid trained and certified.

Please enjoy pictures of a few of my extended family. Each and every dog is special to me.

Thank you,

Diane was nothing short of phenomenal - totally caring, utterly responsible and very responsive. She made our dogs feel completely comfortable and loved - and we never doubted from the minute we met her that our home was in 100% safe hands. We'd recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for a loving sitter for their dogs, in home or otherwise.
Diane gave Sydney the best vacation ever! She had so much fun staying at Diane's and we felt completely at ease leaving her. Thanks, Diane!
Diane was great! I saw the connection between her and Rocco immediately. Her love was for dogs was evident. Her home is warm and dog-friendly, and I was confident Rocco would love it. She sent me pics throughout his stay, kept Rocco busy, which kept my mind at ease while I was away. I will definitely use her again and I'm sure Rocco can't wait to stay with her again.
I almost don't want to say how amazing Diane was or she'll get too popular and I'll never get her back. (wink) She is truly fantastic!

My family and I were away overseas for a week. We received daily pics and updates, which were huge for the kids who were worried about our two furry family members.

Diane was warm, professional and reliable. Moreover, our pups adored her -- lots of affection and daily walks. They basically had a "staycation." One of ours is a four-month old pup and she went above and beyond working with him on some training and sharing helpful feedback.

Our house was tip-top when we returned, which was great in light of our many hours on a plane.

We will be calling Diane again!
Emmy had two previous five star stays at Diane's that were excellent. She seemed to treat Emmy as her own & provided terrific photo updates. However, on her recent stay I was surprised to see an "emergency dog" present. I was notified about the other dog while walking through the door. I was extremely uncomfortable with the other dog (it was more aggressive than I was comfortable with), and we had previously agreed that no other dogs would be present during Emmy's stays. I understand that Diane has since changed her policy regarding emergency dogs but due to the poor communication regarding taking on the other dog, I can't give the stay five stars.
Diane updated us periodically with pictures of our dog having a great weekend which was an excellent way to keep us informed of how stay was going.
Another excellent stay, thank you!
Diane was an excellent hostess. She sent lots of updates/photos. Our pup seems to have really enjoyed her stay, and it is obvious that Diane loves animals. Looking forward to her next visit.
Diane took excellent care of Louie! She gave him lots of love and he felt right at home in her apartment. She kept me updated with photos and texts while I was away. I will definitely use her as a sitter again.
Diane is wonderful! She is very easy to work with. My dogs have issues and do not warm up to new people easily. Diane was understanding and patient with them and understood their needs. My dogs trusted her more quickly then anybody else. She sent updates and pictures of my dogs. I was able to relax completely knowing they were in good hands. I feel so lucky that I found a caring person to watch my dogs while I am away. Thank you Diane!
Diane is great! She's taken care of my dog Teddy twice. The last time it was on short notice because I was ill. He loves her. He has quality, one on one attention with her. It's nice to know he's with someone I trust who is kind and dependable.
Thank you
Thanks a million Disne
Bill always enjoys himself at Diane's. So glad he was well taken care of!
Diane was great! Her initial communications were quick and clear and it was pretty obvious right away that she was going to be a good fit with Stanley. At the meet greet, Diane was immediately interested in Stanley and had already laid out toys so that he would feel at home. She was also welcoming to me and my children and gave us all a sense of confidence that she would take great care of our dog. Stanley is a relatively large dog so we were glad to see she had a fenced yard. Drop off was quick and easy and Diane could not have been more flexible and helpful - same for pick up. While we were away, Diane provided daily updates and pictures and it was clear he was getting exercise and having a great time. We would absolutely use Diane again if she were available. I stopped shy of 5 stars because after we picked Stanley up, we noticed he was lethargic in a way we had not seen before and had a small limp that concerned us. The next day he was fine and we later learned that Diane had spent a lot of time on walks and at the beach the last day so that she (intentionally) returned to us a well exercised and tired dog. In hindsight, this was a good plan on her part but either I should have realized this was the plan (from pics and update) or Diane could have let us know her plan. All in all, this is what Dogvacay should be, a trusting, fun, friendly, and confident experience for everyone.
Diane was wonderful. Bill had a fabulous time and seemed to make himself completely at home. We got updates and pics everyday which was awesome.
Django loved staying with Diane. He got lots of attention and love. Diane knows how to make pets feel at home. Highly recommended.
Diane was fantastic! This was our first time leaving our pup and from the moment you meet Diane you know your furry baby will be in responsible and loving hands. Diane took wonderful care of Molly and we received regular updates and photos. Molly was taken on long walks and to the beach and seemed very relaxed upon our return. My only hesitation in recommending Diane is that she will become too booked for when we need her help again!
Diane is so loving to our dog. She worked so hard to make our dog feel at home!
Our dog is pretty picky about who he likes to socialize with and does not do well in a kennel. Finding a sitter for our trips has been a stressful event until now thanks to Diane. What attracted us to her is the fact that in her care B would be the center of attention as her dogs are not present when she sits. The instant I met her I knew B would have a great time. I felt like he was going to grandma's house. She is loving and spoils the dogs she watches while send fun pictures of their weekend together. What I liked best is how relaxed and low key she is - perfect for our big couch potato! She is also super flexible with pick-up and drop off times, which is important for working pet-parents. I highly recommend her and look forward to the next time we will need a sitter. Thank you again!
Diane is an incredible dog sitter and person. Her love for animals shines through, and her positive personality is contageous. Thank you, DogVacay, for having such a wonderful person on staff!! Cindy Buss
Diane was great. The dogs seemed to love her and she was extremely easy to work with.
Diane was incredible and she took such great care of our dog Maxwell. He almost didn't miss us while we were gone! She kept him very comfortable, happy and exhausted all week long whether it was taking him to the dog park or letting him explore the city with her. She is just great at creating a wonderful environment for your pup! She also chronicled their daily adventures by taking pictures of Maxwell and sending us notes from "Maxwell's perspective." We highly recommend her and have already used her multiple times. She is the best!
Ms Diane is absolutely wonderful! We are so happy she was available when we needed her. She kept Sammi very happy and loved while she was with her. Diane is a true dog lover, and I would highly recommend her to everyone.
Diane was an incredible dog sitter! She was very attentive and kind to my little Oliver. Diane sent daily pictures of her outings with my little guy and it was clear that Ollie felt very happy and comfortable in her care. I was so happy to see how much he loved her and her home! I would love to have Ollie spend time with her again and I know he would too!
