About Laurie

10 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
I work from home, and though I have my little Lucky dog to keep me company, we would love to have another furry friend or two come to spend time with us. We live in a two level town-home with a small green space out back (no fence) and a community walking trail beside us (Filsinger Natural Area). There is lots of room for outdoor on-leash play, as well as space in home for many a tail-chase races.

Your pet must be child friendly. Our son is 5 and has grown up with Lucky, so he knows the ropes when it comes to giving dogs space but we would prefer that pups who come to stay with us have some experience around children so they know what to expect as well.

I completed the dog behaviour training with the Vancouver SPCA and successfully passed the evaluation to be able to volunteer at a shelter there. I have experience with dogs of all sizes (Golden Retriever, Labs, German Shepherd, Mini Poodle & American Eskimos just to name a few!) and ages (puppies, adult and senior dogs). Though we prefer to have smaller breed dogs come to visit, we would consider a medium to large sized dog, if after a meet up we felt that the dog was the right fit for us.

Previously I was a long term cat and fish sitter. I cared for a salt water tank with exotic fish, and a Siamese cat off and on for almost 3 years while living in Montreal. I also have experience with German Shepherds, Golden Retrievers, Mini Poodles, Miniature American Eskimos and Labs.

All went extremely well. We did put our request in with short notice and got a positive and quick response. Reese was well cared for and we felt he was in good hands the whole time. We would not hesitate to contact Laurie to watch again to watch Reese. Thank you.

Laurie is fantastic!

It's very clear that Laurie loves dogs and is also very knowledgeable about them. She uses her experience to help your dog adapt to the his new surroundings and feel at home while you're away.

Dozer got a lot of exercise and outdoor adventure, his favourite!

I would highly recommend Laurie!

Laurie was great - very accommodating and caring. It is a big advantage that she has a friendly dog that our golden retriever, Sammy, was able to play with. Also, because Laurie works at home she is able to take good care of the dogs. Sammy had a happy stay!
