Hi, I'm Joann. I'd love to watch your dog. I board ONE dog at a time ensuring your pup gets 100 percent of my attention while he or she stays over. (Siblings are okay.) I grew up with dogs and love having them around. I volunteer at a local shelter helping to socialize puppies and new additions. I'm happy to answer any questions you have about a potential stay and schedule a Meet n Greet to see if I'm a good match for your dog.
About my apartment: I live in a spacious one-bedroom condo with my dog-loving boyfriend Thompson (he's great at belly rubs and intense games of fetch). Your pet will get plenty of exercise while he's here. I live blocks away from Socrates Sculpture Garden, Rainey Park and Astoria Park (~1 mile away). Depending on your dog's exercise needs, we'll go for short or long walks/runs throughout the day. If your dog needs a ton of exercise, jogging to Gantry Plaza State Park in LIC (2.4 miles away) would be no problem.
Schedule: On weekdays, we work in the city for 7 - 8 hours. We stay home while your pet staycations with us over weekends. We may run errands but for no longer than an hour.
With each pet, we endeavor to stick to his/her normal eating/walking schedule. We're early risers (6 a.m. ~ 7 a.m.) The first thing we do in the morning (after putting on some coffee) is take the dog outside. I'll generally take dogs with energy to spare jogging in the morning. We typically run to and from Astoria Park. Our leisurely jogs usually total 1.5 - 3 miles. I bring water and treats. The length of the run depends on each dog.
We are careful to follow special instructions for meals, walks and medication. We have experience with leash pulling and dogs that prefer not interacting with other dogs on walks. If there's anything we can do while we're watching your beloved pet, just let us know.
Please let me know if you have ANY questions about a potential stay. Thanks for visiting.

We will only watch potty-trained dogs. We will board puppies on a case-by-case basis -- if we have the time to be home and walk the pup every hour or so. We require a crate for pups working on potty training.
***HOW MUCH TIME IS COVERED BY OVERNIGHT RATE?***
The overnight boarding rate of $45/night and nightly holiday rate of $50 (automatically adjusted by DogVacay when you book) covers a 24-hour period.
If you have booked 2 overnights as an example, and are dropping off on 7 a.m. on Friday morning, please plan to pick up around 7 a.m. on Sunday. Should a guest's stay exceed the 24-hour period, there will be an additional day care fee (due to protection-plan coverage). BUT I totally understand if you're late because of traffic or a flight delay. There likely won't be an additional fee if a late pickup is something you can't help or as a part of a long stay.
***WHEN DO I PAY HOLIDAY RATES?***
- A holiday rate will automatically add $5/day to any Reservation Request based service for the holiday period.
- Holiday periods are defined by DogVacay and cannot be changed.
- If a reservation has any days that fall within the holiday period, the entire length of the reservation request will be subject to the holiday pricing rate.
