Hello my name is Benjamin, I have had dogs all my life. I used to be a special education teacher during my time that I went to college at UNC. I now have my bachelors degree in psychology with a minor in special education and I work part time with adults whom have had a traumatic brain injury and I work with children whom have severe disabilities. I am a man with a huge heart, that's too big for just me (: .
I am on this site offering three different services:
1) If you happen to work very long hours and want someone to come take your dog on a couple walks throughout the week... I am all for that! Especially when it is nice outside (or cold).
2) Travel House/Animal sitting:
I am very good at watering plants, taking dogs for walks, and continuing care in whatever daily schedule your pets are used to when you are home. I also have administered medications when necessary and given baths as needed. I am a very clean person and therefore would leave your home as immaculate as you left it (or more).
About this sitter:
Hello everyone it's great to be apart of the dog sitting community! I have been in the home care for pets profession for more than 3 years now and it is something that I truly love to do.
I am also invested in becoming a professional dog trainer. The philosophies that I use for training are in positive training. Zak George is the main reference that I use for resources in regards to dog training. I am 100% nonviolent in everything that it is I do. I don't use discipline in my training methodology, I only use incentives, which is one or a combination of treats, play, or "belly rubs." The type of training I use is called positive training and now Zak George(my mentor) is the first of his kind as a "relationship dog trainer."
I have a degree in psychology and have invested myself in the psychology of dogs.
In regards to my work/profession, I take care of adults whom have experienced a traumatic brain injury and children whom have a severe disabilities. Therefore, taking care of people and animals is truly my passion in life. I am very passionate about my work, which is why I wish to mention the methodology I use for dog training.
Why I love dog sitting:
I am a proud dog lover since I was a little boy!! I grew up with 2 Bichon Frises and now I proudly own a lovely Golden Doodle named Charles. Most importantly, dogs are just as important as family, and sometimes they require more care and tenderness than anyone else in our lives. I have invested a lot of my time into learning about all the different training techniques in order to make my own dog's, and your dogs' lives much happier! I would also love to share any information that I know in order to help other dog owners/lovers in the world understand how to communicate with their dogs in a much more productive, connective, and caring way.
Meet my pets:
I have one pet who would just love the company of another dog. My dog is a very playful pup. He loves to be outside and snuggle up with me. Charles is an older dog, and just turned 12 this year. He is extremely gentle, and very good with other dogs
