This was my first time using Rover and honestly ended up being a stressful time during my vacation. We met with Amber a couple days before we were scheduled to leave, I booked a house sitting with her and it basically ended being a check-in. The reason I asked for a house sitter was for someone to interact and stay with my dogs as they are anxious when I am out of town. I left specific instructions for them and she didn't follow the instructions, I explained the instructions over and phone and sent their routine schedule to her. I checked in with Amber several times the 1st day and did not receive a response for several hours (around 8 hours) because her phone had died. We have cameras to be able to watch our dogs and for security and did not see Amber at the house with the dogs until late afternoon, nor did she check-in with me on whether or not they ate or went potty or even to tell me they were ok. When she finally called me back, it was upsetting to hear that she had been gone for a long period of time. I asked her to check in with me every day, when they went to the bathroom and ate. She only checked in throughout the day after I spoke with her and I had to initiate the check-in daily after that. Communication is extremely important, especially being out of town and not being able to be there. I did not feel at ease my entire vacation because I was worried about my dogs. She did not interact with them or tried to ease them being anxious. I let her know these issues prior to booking due to our last sitter who neglected them in the same way, only checked in and did not interact with them. I was extremely unsatisfied with the service, as my dogs were not cared for in the way I expressed and asked for.

Amber was absolutely amazing with our three pups. We were away for 10 days and was comforted in knowing that they were being well taken care of while we were away. We even got home to a house that was cleaner than when we had left it! We will definitely be using Amber again for our pet sitting/dog walking needs in the future. We highly recommend!
