WOW... HOW DO YOU FIND THE BEST CAREER FOR YOUR PET "That's the question".
Before writing my description, I read a few of the other PROFILES here,
TO BE HONEST, I was overwhelmed, most of the profiles looked and sounded the same,....... If I was a pet owner logging in to this site for the first time, I won't know where to start.
SO HERE'S A PROFILE WITH A DIFFERENT APPROACH TO HELP YOU LEARN WHO I AM...
Q. How many pets will you care for at one time?
A. I believe quality time is necessary to your pet, a maximum of two pets at one time is realistic (preferably the same owners pets). Plus, I would either take two cats or two dogs at any one time, never one of each as this may stress them out. (except if they were from the same family)
Q. Do you live in a house or apartment?
A. I live in a ground floor 3 bed apartment.
Q. How often would you be able to take my dog out for walks and toilet duties during the day?
A. Your dog would be part of my family during the time he/she stays with us. Like my own dogs in the past, I would go for a long walk every morning and evening. Additionally, he /she would come out with us during the day. Regular toilet breaks WILL BE THROUGHOUT THE DAY . Your dog would be treated no different as I would treat if was my own.
Q. Why have you chosen to care for peoples pets?
A. Because the two things I love the most in this world are Children and animals...
Q. Who are you?
A. I'm a 48 year old English women with two children (14-16) from London.
Q. Do you have pets yourself?
A. NO... not anymore, I've had 4 dogs during my life, but since we moved to Florida I've chosen not to have another dog for the time being.
Q. Why do you want to care for other peoples pets?
A. As a family, we miss that joy and companionship that animals bring into a home,
Q.How long have you lived in Florida?
A. About six months, I'm here for two years.
Q. What is your profession?
A. I'm a Cambridge University Teacher and Child Psychologist. I provide private educational tutoring to children.
Q. Will there always be someone present in your property when caring for my pet?
A. Yes... caring for your pet would be a priority.
Q. Are your children respectful to animals?
A. My children have grown up with pets from: hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, cats and dogs... Animals are part of there life and they love them.
Q. How can I trust a complete stranger with my loved one?
A. As a psychologist, I often believe that "gut instinct" counts for a lot. We can feel if something is correct and safe, just as much as if something just doesn't feel right. It's IMPORTANT for both parties to feel content with any arrangement.
Q. Should I feel concerned about our arrangement while we're away, or my pet becomes ill, can I send a friend over to check things out?
A. YES of course, my home is open to you at anytime and you are totally welcome to have a friend drop by at anytime.
Q. Can I Face time or skype my dog should I want to while I'm away?
A. Absolutely.... I've done this myself in the past and it can be quite amusing.
Q. How long have you been caring for other peoples pets.
A. To be honest, I've only just registered. The service I offer is based on a more PERSONAL one and not a business like most others,
Q.Do you take on any pet?
A. No, I believe it's essential that all parties feel comfortable with the arrangement. Not only should you and I feel content, your pet must also feel relaxed within my home.
Q. Do you get to know my pet first?
A. YES... IT'S A MUST. Meeting you and your pet first is essential to build a trust and understanding.
Q. Do you refuse any pet?
A. YES, If I feel your pet would not feel content being with us I would unfortunately decline.
Q. Why have you chosen to offer this service?
A. At first I just helped out a friend walking and caring for her dog, It was at this point I thought it would be a wonderful opportunity all round.
Q. Can we come and visit your home before booking our pet in with you?
Q. Does anyone drink or take drugs in your home?
A. Absolutely NOT.
I hope I've answered some general questions, I know if it was myself looking for a career I definitely would want to know the above before leaving my pets with someone. My home is a safe, and happy place for your pet to stay.
Thank You and see you soon.
