About Karin

25 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
I specialize in long-term boarding, for weeks or months. If available, I will also do short term boarding.

For dog walking, I specialize in long walks/runs, up to 5 miles, and include leash training and general manners.

I have always loved dogs! I trained sled dogs in Alaska, rescued Greyhounds, I've worked with many special needs dogs, with emotional and behavioral challenges, and seniors. I've fostered and placed many dogs into wonderful homes.

I would love to meet you and your dog, to see if we would be a good fit!

Our 18 month old lab Peaches loves spending time at Karin's. She is always happy to go there and seems to have a great time during her stay. Karin's foster dog Murdoch is good company for Peaches, even though she gives him quite a work out
My dog, Riley, was well cared for by Karin and her family. Karin has years of experience with dogs and she worked on training Riley to not try to "counter surf". She took my active dog to the dog park several times. Karin has a largish fenced backyard. I will definitely use Karin for dog sitting again.

Karin was a great host! My dog was very well taken care of, had a lot of outdoor time to play in the backyard as well as walks (Karin was getting my dog to walk without pulling and gave me a big tip on how I could do it, too). My dog was very happy when I came to pick him up!

I returned from a 5 night, 6 day trip to find my cattle dog incredibly calm and mellow, happy to see me but completely at ease. We did two shorter visits first, primarily so that I could check her out in advance of an overnight stay. Both my dog and I have trust issues...and we both give Karin Two Thumbs Up...WAY UP!!

I need daycare as well as boarding for longer trips. I mostly work from home but occasionally need to go into the office for full days; on these days, Riggsy goes to Camp Karin. We both love this. I have zero worry so can completely concentrate on work, and Riggsy gets love and walks and his afternoon pill and good company so that even days with thunderstorms are good days.

Karin has a lovely way with dogs -- she is attentive and responsive and notices and adjusts to their reactions swiftly and naturally. She used to train sled dogs and fosters dogs in her home. She's part of a loving caring family, and has well mannered kids who respect and enjoy dogs.

Of all the dogs I've brought into my life, my Riggsy is the most opinionated about people. He has on occasion effectively vetoed particular dogsitters! Riggsy adores Karin, and accepted her without hesitation. She makes him feel completely safe and he loves her calm, cheerful home. I appreciate her sincere love of dogs, her excellent availability and tolerance of inexact pickup times.

It's such a relief and pleasure to have found my Go To Dogsitter for both overnight AND day care.

Karin is wonderful, she loves dogs and the most important, she cares about them, and has LOTS of patience, specially with my energy lovely dog. I will use her definetely in the future.
I have used Karin for training my 9 month old lab to walk on a leash without pulling . She has been doing a good job with the training and giving us instructions on dog handling. She knows her stuff and , is calm , and authoritative yet gentle. We have a had a couple of sessions so far but I feel quite confident about getting good results with Karin's help.

Karin and her family did a great job taking care of our dog for 10 days when we were on a west coast vacation. She sent timely updates to let us know how our dog was doing. Our dog was happy. We will use Karin again in the future.
