I've had dogs my whole life. I had my first German Shepherd when I was only 2 years old and have had many other breeds since then. I've had a Siberian-Husky, Pomeranian, Jack-Russel terrier, Bearded Collie, and my most recent was a Pug-Chihuahua/ Dachsund. I also recently took care of a friends' kitten while she prepared to move (how I found out I have a cat allergy).
I'm currently doing my undergrad studies full time at the U of S, and I hope to use my obtained degree to get into the Veterinary College. I love all animals, but I REALLY love dogs! I do have a slight allergy to cats but only after a long period of time, roughly 2 weeks, so I would prefer to look after your cats in your home rather than in mine.
I'm happy to look after any animal you have, spiders, goats, chicken, cow; anything! I live in a basement suite which I know is not ideal but it doesn't get too hot or too cold, and I have no issues spending more time outside. Our back yard is fully fenced with 2 gates. The rear fence is about 6ft tall and the side is about 4ft as well as one of the gates.
Your animals will not be unsupervised for more than 1 hour at a time during the week-days (unless I have to do any grocery shopping but again will only be out for a short period and my husband may be home as well), and on weekends I can provide full day/ night care. Of course if I'm watching your pet all day and over night, they will be unsupervised while I sleep, however I am a very light sleeper and depending on the comfort level of your pet, I can adjust my sleeping behaviour to ensure they will not get anxious. I will not bring your animals to the store with me (unless it's to critters for a treat that YOU PREVIOUSLY APPROVE of), however if they enjoy car-rides, I'm not opposed to taking them for a drive (fully attended). I have a very flexible schedule and am willing to work around yours.
Please note: I do not have the time to house train your pet, so if he is not house trained I will not take him. It is too much of a hassle and as a student in classes full time, I do not have the extra time that is needed to help a dog learn.
