NB: we have 1 spot for the New Year week.
Me & my husband Ken live in a house with a fenced yard (1/5th acre) in a beautiful, quiet and safe area by Pentagon City/Crystal City metro in a very close proximity to the DCA. We both grew up with dogs, but currently we travel a lot, so appreciate the opportunity to host pups.
My husband works for the Navy and helps me to watch and to play with pups in the evenings and on the weekends. I'm switching from tech PR to coding, so spend the daytime at home studying, and taking care of dogs.
I share my PAWesome guests' stories in my blog: live-love-bark.blogspot.com
We have experience with dogs of all ages, energy levels, and with giving meds and special diets. Each pup's vacay is being adjusted to its own schedule and needs.
Dogs will spend a lot of time outside in the yard whenever they want, but sleep in the house, and thus we cannot accept dogs that are not used to being inside and are not housebroken (but I understand 'accidents' do happen, especially with younger pups).
A pup must be able to spend 2 hours max by itself if we need to go out.
We have a pup friendly sofa - I just wash the cover after vacays, so that we do welcome the cuddlers :)
We accept only fixed friendly dogs (though unfixed pup till 5 months is fine). We always give preference to repeat guests and new guests who are chill and well- behaved (housebroken and come when they are called). We get booked quite fast, so cannot guarantee that spots stay open long - if you asked about a date and I said it was open, it still can get booked any moment.
-day boarding is $45 (includes DogVacay support& insurance). If you drop off your dog in the morning and want to pick up after noon, please keep in mind the daycare fee.
-daycare is $30
For both services drop off is starting 7 am on weekdays; 7 30 am on weekends and pick up till 10 pm.
Please consider that we do not give discounts for extra pups and long stays.
A meet-and-greet is necessary before booking.
Your plans can change, it happens. In such case, just send me a note and we will make the necessary changes. If you cancel twice without a note to me, I'm sorry I won't accept further booking requests from you - mutual respect is necessary.
We live in our house with parking spots right in front of it. If you need a quick drop - off or pick- up - let me know and I'll go out and help you.
When you drop off your pet, please bring enough food (treats, yay!) and other necessary things your dog is used to and might need (bed, toys - though we've bought some for our guests). If your dog is very fluffy, please also bring the brush.
Please give a bath to your dog & check if their bed also needs to be washed before the vacay.
We will send you text-/photo-/video- updates via DogVacay app each day. If you just feel you miss your pup - please feel free to send me a text any time.
I know our travel schedule only month and a half in advance, so can accept bookings only so far ahead.
Please be sure about your trip dates if you decide to book us. I don't want to sound strict, but it is difficult to make plans and get new bookings with short cancelation notices, so I plan to enforce the moderate cancelation policy.
