We have an easy going household with both current students and graduates from UC Davis that have extensive experience with all sorts of critters. Our medium sized, fully fenced in backyard is clean and neat, pest free, with two resident Nigerian Dwarf Goats. We also work with various rescue groups in fostering, rehabilitating, and training dogs of all ages and breeds. Davis is very dog friendly, quiet with many walking trails. In case there is an emergency, we have quick easy access to the UC Davis Veterinary Hospital!
We tend to integrate all four-legged guests into our normal everyday routine, including any day or multi-day trips. We may do occasional trips to the Bay Area for some beach fun or Lake Tahoe region for some hiking or snow fun, and will take all dogs with us (at no extra cost). We require that all pets are current on their vaccines, flea/tick/heartworm/GI parasite preventative, and have an overall clean bill of health (proof is required). Dogs must be well mannered with at least the basics of training, house broken, well socialized, obedient, non-aggressive, no behavioral issues, no separation anxiety, and crate-trained (or ones that can be left alone if needed). But we will also take into consideration requests that don't fit those criteria. All male dogs must be neutered. We will not take females during their heat cycle.
We conveniently live within minutes of I-80, which makes it easy for people to drop off and pick up their pets when they are on their way to work or going out of town for vacation!
