Hi! My name is Morgan - I am 24 years old and I live in South Tampa with my girlfriend, Christal, and our puggle, Little Wing.
Christal and I both have extremely flexible schedules, so we are able to provide service consistently and on short notice if necessary.
I strongly prefer a meet-and-greet with you (and hopefully your pet!) prior to hosting or sitting, but I understand that, if there is an emergency, that could be nearly impossible for you. If that is your predicament, the next best thing would be a thorough phone conversation. Otherwise, I am happy to come to you to talk and go over your animal's needs.
I'd love to know upfront if your pet is potty-trained, has any allergies, prefers to be crated at night, has separation anxiety or any other particular quirks you can think of. Every dog is different and we don't want to rub them the wrong way!
If your dog is staying with us, I should tell you a little bit about our home.
Our dog Little Wing is about 30 lbs, 7-years old, and gets along well with others. She may bark with excitement at first, but loves the company. We take her to the beach or to the Picnic Island dog park on a nearly weekly basis. She has had a surgery or two in her lifetime so we are familiar with the recovery process if your pet is going through something similar.
We live in a relatively small two-bedroom house - for that reason, I prefer to watch dogs on the small to medium side. We have a fenced in backyard where we usually let Little Wing out. I can either let your dog out there or take your dog for a walk. When we leave, she is not crated - she usually just sleeps until we come home. While we do have tile floors, rugs are put down in the main rooms and areas. If you are concerned about your older dog slipping, let me know and I will be sure to cover the floors to make it safer. :)
Neither Christal nor I have ever professionally cared for animals, but we have had Little Wing since she was a puppy - I've also cared for my family's dogs on several occasions. Most of my friends have dogs and we love to make new furry friends!
If your pet is NOT a dog, I will not be able to host them at my home. Not sure if that goes without saying, but wanted to mention it just in case. I am more than happy to make "house calls" for non-canine creatures, though!
Most importantly, I want to let you know I am willing to work around anyone's situation within reason. I am admittedly uneasy about caring for a pet that is aggressive, overly neurotic, or untrained, but outside of that, I will do everything I can to accommodate your pet's disposition. If you have any questions, please ask! I look forward to meeting you and your fuzzy family members!
