TINY and SMALL Dogs only please!
I am an animal lover and have had dogs most of my life - wow, that's over 50 years! My yard has a wood privacy fence, and has a very nice size level back yard, in addition to a side area that is very shady and a little rocky. The ground in Briarcliff only has about 2 inches of dirt over it's rock, so digging problems aren't something I am concerned about.
My main living areas are carpeted, I have a doggie door, and the kitchen/breakfast area is where I gate off my guys during the day. There is plenty of room for crates to be added in the gated part of the kitchen, so your doggie would have in/out priveledges for water consumption. This area also has full lenght windows, so they can look outside at the deer or anyone else walking buy. I live on a quiet street, so there is very little traffic.
Currently I own 3 sweet little maltese, so I prefer a small dogs only to visit and become one of their play buddies. I do have experience with numerous breeds.
Here is a list of dogs I've owned:
Akita's - (3), Ridgeback, Shepherd Mix, Lab, Cocker Spaniels (2).
I am a professional groomer, but my tools are old, so I prefer to only give a bath to a prospective visitor. But, I can also give them a great brushing, which would be based on a 15 minute charge rate of $7.50. I have numerous types of brushes and combs, and my grooming experience let's me understand the correct type to use per breed. I also have a brush that focuses on the "undercoat" to assist with shedding. This additional service of course, is dependent on their temperment towards being brushing, and the condition of the dogs fur/hair. If I recommend a grooming instead, I'll tell you so you can make arrangements with a professional at their grooming salon.
My goal is to have dogs visit to play with my three, and to feel welcome to play in the yard. Sleep/nap time is also required so no one burns out or gets dehydrated. I provide water inside and outside.
If your dog has a good temperment, and is a breed that gets along with small dogs, then we have a match. My three are all "fixed" so if yours isn't, they could be invited to come over and play, as long as I'm able to get them to become part of the pack and play nice!
In addition to being trained on how to watch for the temperment of a dog while grooming them, I spent 3 years in the dog food industry as a manufacturers sales rep. So, I am very maticulous about what I feed my dogs. What they eat effects their moods, just like us a humans experience. If nutrition counseling is asked about, I give that freely in a consultation when you become a client with your beloved pet.
