When I left for 5 weeks of travel, it was important to me to find a pet sitter who would treat my dog well, so I set up an interview with Karlas own pup Leo to get a REAL FEEL of how dogs life is over there.

Leo is a young Pomeranian, a prince, and an absolute diva so it was difficult to get on his schedule. Luckily, and by the hard work and committed nature of his manager (Karla) we were able to schedule something.

When I arrived at Leos palace (Karla also resides there) one of the first things I noticed was the fenced in yard, a must for my beagle. I continued up the steps and rung the doorbell, where I immediately heard the young Prince bark for his manager. Karla greeted me at the door and introduced me to the furry regal. He was very happy to see me.

When his majesty and I sat down together, I couldn't help but notice his perfect haircut and his immaculately manicured paws. His tiny teeth were whiter than fresh fallen glacial snow of Nova Scotia. Before we even started the interview I knew this was a good place for dogs.

We talked mostly about dog stuff but at the end of the interview he did finally let his guard down and we found out that my trusty ol beagle and the young royal have the same favorite football team! Anyway I was happy to hear that he goes out in the yard several times a day, but still enjoys walking with Karla in the neighborhood. When it is his will, she even takes him to Rockwood park.

I felt supremely confident in leaving my beagle under the management of Karla but I had one final concern, so I asked him "Leo, You have it great here. You are the King of this domain do you think that having my beagle here would be a struggle for the attention of your primary assistant Karla?" With royal modesty and out of respect for Karla he sent her out of the room and privately gave the MOST confident and glowing testimony in his supreme assistant. Then with the stoic wisdom only possessed by a 4 year old 12 inch 11 pound philosopher he replied "It gets lonely at the top, and dogs need friends too"

So here we are. I'm back from my business trip and I'm so happy to be back with my ol beagle. He is getting re acclimated back to normal humdrum life, but he has a new friend that he sees at the dogpark sometimes.
