Let your dog relax and play while your away.
I am an animal lover who has had dogs big and small my whole life looking to give your best friend and you a relaxing time away. I work from home so there is almost always someone home to keep the dogs company, except for quick errands to the store. In addition to myself, I also have a teenage son who is here to help as well throughout the Summer and after school.
Our pup is a 1 1/2 year old, very active Vizla who loves to play with other dogs. He is very friendly and gets along great with other dogs. He does like to jump and can play hard so he is best with larger, active dogs that like to play and wrestle and can keep up with him and his energy. One of the reasons we have decided to do this besides our love of dogs, is to give him some new friends and playmates. A tired dog is a happy dog and that is how we like him. Running and playing are 2 of his favorite activities but he also enjoys chasing balls and trying to catch the Frisbee.
We also have 2 resident cats who have been around dogs their entire lives and know how to run and hide if they do not want to play but we do ask that visiting dogs do not have issues with harming cats and putting them at risk or a high prey drive.
We have a large fenced yard with grass to run and play as well as a wooded area for hide and seek. A doggy door is open all day and most of the evening so dogs are free to come and go at their leisure. We live less than 2 miles from a dog friendly park where your dog can be taken for evening walks if they prefer that over playing in the yard. Since we do have woods, ticks can occasionally be found so we encourage visiting pets to have been treated with a flea and tick preventative.
The bottom floor of our home is available for dogs to walk freely around and our furniture has already been broken in and is pet friendly. Our dog is crate trained and does sleep in his crate at night. If your pet has a crate and uses it, please bring it along. It is nice for visiting dogs to have a nice quiet place that they feel safe in to make them feel at home. If they do not have a crate but do have their own beds, please bring those as well.
We do request that visiting dogs have been neutered or spayed as at this time, our dog is currently intact. Also, we only take pets that are housebroken and can potty outside. We are pet lovers and do understand that accidents can happen but we would like to keep accidents to a minimum and since my dog likes to eat things, pee pee pads would never work for us. At this time we do not take puppies under the age of 12 months.
We can be flexible with pick up and drop off times as we know traffic is not always predictable. We would like to try and avoid drop off before 9 am and pickups after 7 PM. but we can be flexible in certain cases. If you need different times, please let me know and we can discuss them. Additional fees for earlier and later pickups may apply.
To make sure our dogs are a good fit and everyone will be safe and happy, I highly recommend arranging a meet and greet with us prior to booking.
Please note that dog breeds that fall into the excessive drooler category will carry an extra fee of $5.00 per 24 hour period.
For the month of December, we have not decided if we wish to offer boarding that month at this time. If we do choose to offer it, we will only be taking dogs who have been good previous guests and we know since we will have decorations and things out that could be hazardous for some animals. If you are a previous guest and would like to check our December availability, please message me with the dates you are interested in.
If you have additional questions, please send me a note and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
