About Leslie

20 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
I have had dogs all my life. I'm looking for how to have more of them in my life. I have a special passion for animals and the unconditional love they provide. They are family to me. I have had a variety of breeds and ages of dogs in my pet family. I have also in the past had several cats, guinea pigs, hamsters and fish!

I live in Harrington Grove of N Raleigh and there are many pet families on my street. I have a fenced in back yard with a few trees for your pet's bird watching pleasure as well as the some random squirrels and bunnies and tiny lizards to appease their curiosity. I have a large dog house in the backyard should you or your pet for some reason prefer it. I prefer to keep the dogs wherever I am.

A typical day is going to be lots of love as many walks as possible.

I do some part time accounting, bookkeeping and personal financial organization for individuals from home and I love having the company of dogs.

Leslie has dog sat my two dogs many times and they love seeing her each time. She treats my dogs as if they were her own and I am always confident that they are well loved and well cared for. The guilt of not being home is diminished knowing they are so well taken cared for and how much they enjoy their time with Leslie.

The perfect host. My Sherlock has been pampered and spoiled during his stay. My situation may be different than most. I relocated to Raleigh in December of 2016 and needed a temporary home for my Sherlock. Leslie has been the perfect host. Sherlock is happy and comfortable in her home.
I am so fortunate to have found her.
Leslie has exceeded my expectations in caring for my Sherlock. She has kept me informed as to the changes in his behavior during the transition to her care.
Leslie treats him as a member of her family. She and her dog Chloe have made Sherlock feel at home.

I highly recommend Leslie as your next care giver for your dog.
Leslie did a great job watching my Luna, and was very flexible with my crazy schedule!
Leslie took very good care of Halo during her stay. She texted me updates to let me know how she was doing and she was a wonderful host. I wouldn't hesitate to leave my pup with her!! I'm surprised Halo wanted to come home she had such a wonderful time with Leslie. ; D
Leslie is absolutely the very best, We could not have been better pleased with her caring for our kids (pets). She took better care of them than we do.
We were extremely fortunate to have found her.
She will be our go-to lady every time we are out of town. In a word, she is GREAT!!!
My hound dog, Sadie, stayed with Leslie for a week while I was out of the country, and I was extremely happy with how well Sadie was cared for. I was quite nervous about leaving Sadie behind, because she is quite sensitive and has struggled with separation anxiety in the past. I booked a stay with Leslie because it was obvious that she would truly care for any visiting dogs as if they were her own. I loved the fact that Leslie offered more daily walks and less time left alone than other sitters in the area, and since Sadie is an escape artist when she gets nervous, Leslie's 100% fenced in yard was a huge relief.

Leslie responded to my booking request quickly, and it was clear she was very friendly and loved dogs. When I dropped Sadie off, I was very impressed by her house and neighborhood. Her neighborhood was in a little subdivision that seemed very safe, and it was not on a main road. Leslie also mentioned that there are many friendly dogs and people in her neighborhood, who Sadie would meet on her walks. Her house was spacious, uncluttered, and clean.

Leslie's dog Chloe was adorable and very friendly. She was smaller than Sadie and submissive, but she was very accommodating of her new guest. Chloe was obviously very agreeable, and I think she would probably get along well with any friendly, well-behaved dog.

Leslie remembered a small detail from my dog's profile - that she likes enclosed spaces and closets - and immediately helped me set up Sadie's bed in her laundry room, so Sadie would have a safe space. I was amazed by how thoughtful and kind this was! Leslie also let me check out the backyard, so I would be certain it was secure, and I had no doubts that Sadie would be fine in the yard.

I talked to Leslie about Sadie's food, her walking schedule and her fear of thunderstorms, while Sadie made herself comfy on a living room chair. I was a bit worried Sadie was getting too comfortable as a guest, but Leslie assured me she was welcome on the furniture. Leslie got all my contact information and the name of my vet in case anything unexpected came up, and I got ready to leave. Sadie made her way into the kitchen and lounged on the kitchen window-seat, peacefully looking out at the view. I think Sadie thought she was in heaven!

Leslie sent me regular photo updates during her stay. She also sent me a video of Sadie during a doggy play date! This made me so happy, because it was above and beyond anything I had expected. Plus, Sadie will often ignore other dogs, rather than play, when she is nervous. In the video, Sadie was running around and playing with the other dogs, so I knew Sadie felt extremely comfortable and was having a great time. During the trip, I even got a worried message from Leslie, because Sadie was not wanting to walk much; this was only because it was a very rainy week and Sadie hates rain, but I was so touched that Leslie cared so much about Sadie to reach out and double check.

Sadie came home looking happy and healthy. I have no doubt that Sadie had a better vacation than I did! I definitely recommend Leslie to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter, and I myself plan to book with her again the next time I have to travel. I'm so glad Sadie got to stay with Leslie, Chloe, and their family!
