While I have been a teacher for the past 25 years, I was a certified veterinary technician for 8 years. My two-year degree is from Truman State University, Kirksville, MO (f.k.a. Northeast Missouri State University). I worked in a small and exotic animal practice in Oak Park, Illinois, a small and large animal practice in Omaha, Nebraska, and a small animal practice in St. Louis, Missouri. I grew up on a farm with pigs, goats, chickens, horses, dogs, and cows. I am looking to go into the canine care business full time.
We live on 6.3 acres just outside of Janesville, WI. We have five dogs, four cats, twelve chickens, two roosters, and two goats. We are also the proud owners of a mini donkey!
Currently, we have two fenced areas for the dogs. If business goes well, we will add additional fenced areas. We will then be able to have small-to-medium and medium -to-large dog areas. Eventually, we will also add additional run areas for the dogs to experience the day in the life of a "country dog." There are trails through our six wooded-acres that your dog will love going on walks through.
We are early risers, so the pets will get an early outdoor run before breakfast. Depending on the weather, they will enjoy being outdoors, playing fetch, or romping with each other. If it is cold or rainy or snowy, they can share the inside domain--and, yes, they can be on the furniture (which some owners may not necessarily appreciate, so let us know). They will get an early evening meal. We will, however, accommodate individual feeding schedules. We will provide crates and clean
doggie beds for the nighttime. We have accommodating areas in the upstairs and downstairs areas of our home.
We love our animals, and we will love yours, too! Lange's lodge is truly a vacation destination for your beloved pets.
