About Krista

I will give your dogs unconditional love & care! My name is Krista. I'm 25 years old. I've professionally walked dogs for the past 3 years alongside a dog trainer friend of mine in Boulder CO who taught me everything he knew, & then took over his work this past year, & I realized I am really good at it! Now I've moved to Nashville & hope to keep up the work. I've dogsat for countless friends over the years. I have basic training abilities, understand separation anxiety & leash aggression, & believe that positive reinforcement is the best way to train. If a doggie knows they'll get a treat or reward for doing something, they will do it for you every single time. I will get a dog of my own some day but want to be financially capable of fulfilling a dog's every need so I have to wait a little while. In the meantime, let me borrow yours! I am a work-from-home freelance video editor, so I am available at any time. I live in a duplex with my boyfriend 10 minutes from Downtown Nashville. Our place is long & slim, so I can virtually see every room from anywhere all the time, great for supervision. We also have an open grassy backyard that I would take them out to regularly. We also have gates & designated safe areas for anytime we would ever leave the pet home alone. Paul & I are uber dog lovers, your dog will be looked after & cuddled constantly.
I will take your dogs out on walks to stretch their legs & give them some exercise during the winter months when you'll wanna stay inside warm & cozy. If you choose me to care for your pet, I will ask tons of questions specific for your dog so I can be the best caregiver I can be. There's never such a thing as giving me too much information (like "She's had some diarrhea lately." or "He doesn't like people in hats or sunglasses.") especially dietary needs & specific behavioral traits. You will provide leashes & food (& toys if applicable), & I will provide treats & doggy bags, (& tennis balls if applicable). Either of us can provide food bowls, beds, & anything else you think of. I love good communication & will make you feel safe & secure leaving your fluffy friend in my hands!

**To address a couple of things brought up in a recent review... Like my profile states, my boyfriend & I are NONSMOKERS. We do not smoke & our place does not smell of smoke, however our neighbors next door do smoke, & that smell can sometimes linger near our doorway. My house is kept in top shape & smell for your doggies enjoyment, never fear! Also, some dog owners can be very naive about their own pets, it's like parenting! If your dog is staying in a new place that is unfamiliar to them, they can experience levels of stress, this is very normal, but EVERY dog in general chews on things at one point or another, but I keep your dogs safe & don't let them swallow anything or hurt themselves, other dogs, or me. I keep them constantly supervised & give them my full attention.

It seems as though Krista did a good job with my dog. My dog was happy in all the pictures that I got, and when I came to pick her up she seemed happy as well. Krista was also good at responding and keeping me updated about the dog while I was away.
The only couple things that I had a problem with was that their house reeked of cigarettes, which wasn't a deal breaker, I just wish that was disclosed to me prior to making arrangements.
There was also another dog that was being watched by them for that weekend (which I was made aware of prior to the stay). However, the other dog was prone to ripping apart toys and my dog has never ruined her toys, so I was unpleasantly surprised when I was unpacking my dogs vacation bag to find some of her toys ripped apart. Me needing to buy new toys wasn't what made me upset; but the fact that the broken and torn toys were packed by Krista, and she failed to mention it to me was an immature approach to the issue which made me unhappy. She was very nice but, honesty, attentiveness and good communication skills are essential for me to trust a dog sitter and that wasn't completely there in my experience.

Krista was amazing! She sent me pictures and updates daily. Koa loved her we will definitely be asking her to dog sit again.
Krista and her bf were wonderful to work with! She took several sweet photos of Buddy and kept me updated while we were on our trip. He was very happy when we picked him up, and we were so happy that he had been given all kinds of attention while we were gone. We will definitely use them again!
