About Leanne

35 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
I would be proud and honored to be chosen to care for your dog—I know how hard it is to leave your dog with a stranger…but, hopefully, we won’t be “strangers” for very long!

I guess I’ve always—or mostly always—had a dog in my life. Like most of you, I grew up with a family dog but in my case the attraction continued into my adult life. My first “all my own” dog was an Old English Sheepdog….I called him Bluegrass. Oh how I loved that dog!! And I wanted everyone else to love him too so I became very involved in learning about dogs, dog behavior, training, showing ….everything. I was hooked. Blue led me into another breed—Bearded Collies. Once again, I became the hobbyist breeder, competitor, trainer. As the years passed, I taught basic obedience classes and worked with other people’s dogs in an effort to learn more.
Bearded Collies led me to German shepherds—and I am now completely mesmerized by the GSD. I’m on my second one—a wonderful black shepherd called Guinness.
After I retired from my career, I wanted to share my home and love for dogs and chose to offer to keep dogs in my home as a small business. I love to be home and I love dogs…so it seemed like a natural fit. I use my knowledge acquired over the years to ensure that your precious puppy is kept in a safe, relaxed environment where she can play or sleep, chew on toys or chase other dogs. Not all dogs like each other so I carefully monitor behavior to ensure that all dogs are getting along and that play is appropriate.
I regularly attend seminars, workshops, classes to keep my knowledge up to date. These seminars covered topics of behavior, training, health care. Currently I am enrolled in 2 classes—both of which involve behavior and training. I also completed the course work and passed the National Certification for Canine Massage—although I do not maintain my license, I do have extensive knowledge on anatomy, evaluation of gait and recognizing injuries.
I would be proud and honored to be chosen to care for your dog—I know how hard it is to leave your dog with a stranger…but, hopefully, we won’t be “strangers” for very long!

This was Mirandas first time being boarded and she had a great time. Leanne is very knowledgeable about dogs which was one of the key things we liked about her. All of our current training was reinforced. She had a good time playing with Leannes dog.
Miranda came home happily exhausted!

Leanne is great, her house is really set up for the dogs. She is wonderful about sending updates with pics and videos to make us feel great knowing our pooch is in good hands while we are away. She is very organized and the homemade treats are much appreciated. Gracie our 1 yr old pup was very happy with Leanne.

Leanne took great care of our dog Redmond. Our big guy has not stayed away from us very often and needed extra attention and patience. Communicating with Leanne was very easy and she gave great honest feedback and updates about his stay daily. It was great to see him playing and enjoying himself in all of the pictures she sent!
