Kirby haus in NE!
Pet care experience
My name is Hannah and my partner Richard and I reside in a row house on a nice quiet street in the Trinidad area of northeast DC. We are close to Gallaudet university, the atlas district (h street is just a few blocks away), generally pretty conveniently located for people living in the city. The residential neighborhood we live in is perfect for strolling up and down. We have lots of dogs in the neighborhood for your dog to meet on walks. Kingsman dog park and Lincoln park are a short distance away as are Atlas vet and metro mutts. A very dog friendly area! I also have lots of toys, extra food and water bowls, extra dog beds and blankets to make sure your pup feels right at home. Your dog is more than welcome on the couch and bed at our home during sleep and down time as long as it is ok with you :) About this sitter: I have over 10 years of experience as a professional petsitter both with a company and independent contractor. I worked for capital Petsitters for 6 years as a professional Petsitters and dog walker and have also worked at a veterinary hospital and pet store. Why I love dog sitting I have been a dog lover pretty much as long as I can remember. My best buddy from the time he and I were 5-17 was a little gray poodle named Smokey. My first real job was at a pet store and then as a kennel tech at an animal hospital. I have been working as a petsitter and dog walker for the past 6 years and have lots of experience with all kinds of dogs. I have had my italian greyhound mix, Kirby for 8 years now and adore him. Meet my pets We lost our Italian greyhound/terror mix Kirby this year at the age of 15 after 10 wonderful years together. I currently have a spunky 2 year old schipperke/chihuahua mix named Roky (row-kee) and a 10 year old kitty named Mimi. They both get along just fine with other animals. I have always brought my dog along with me on almost all of my dog walks and overnight stays (with the owners knowledge and permission of course) so he is very used to other dogs and palling around. About my yard I do have a great fenced in back yard! There is also the Kingsman dog park a few blocks away and lincoln park a few more blocks away. My experience administering medication Yes. I have gone through medical assistant training and am comfortable administering any type of medication your pet may need including injections.
Reviews
I've gotta say we were nervous about using Rover for the first time and leaving our dogs behind, but Hannah was great and totally got along with our pups. We got updates every visit, and they were very well taken care of. I especially appreciated that she offered to set up a pre-meeting, because one of our dogs has a little stranger anxiety. She was great with him and our other dog - and even fed our fish for us too - we will definitely go to her first next time we go out of town!
Hannah did an amazing job with our puppies. Our dog Bauer has a lot of allergy issues, and she managed all the medications and the special bath. She sent us daily emails with pictures. She was very thoughtful and considerate with everything, including washing our sheets for when we came home. I would recommend her to everyone, and we will definitely use her again.
Thank you Hannah for all your patience with Aoki. Hanna was willing to send me pictures and he took great care of him. Aoki enjoyed his stay there and he also met a little friend!
Floyd had a great time. Thanks again, Hannah!

Information Hannah B. would like to know about your pet
How do they interact with other cats, dogs, people, children? Whether or not they tend to chew on or eat things that aren't meant to be chewed on or eaten? Any medical conditions, allergies, on any medications? Are they ever crated? What is their feeding schedule and diet? How many times do you let them out per day? Do they have any anxieties or fears? Favorite treats or toys? Basically, their day to day routine and anything else I should know about them. I have no breed preferences. I love dogs of all different breeds and have experience with all different sizes of dogs and their individual personalities or whatever quirks they may have :)
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks There are many quieter residential streets and then busier h street and florida avenue if that is what your dog likes. Plenty of sidewalk and grass and parks and dog parks (kingsman, lincoln, etc). It depends on your dog and your preference and your dogs but there are many options. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Pretty much anywhere your dog would like to sleep is fine by me. I have a few dog beds that could be of use or you could bring your own. I also have a huge couch that dogs are certainly welcome on. Time I'll spend with your dog I am home for most of the day aside from an hour or two at most here and there. I am usually at home practicing my viola or out briefly at a rehearsal or lesson. I spend a ton of time with my dog (practically inseparable) and will with yours as well! I have a room mate who enjoys animals as well and most likely will be at home when I am not.
