I am a 25 year old internship-student, who loves dogs of any breed. I recently moved out of my parent's house, where we co-owned a big, beautiful, goofy, and energetic mutt. I still occasionally walk him during my visits to my parent's. As well, earlier this year we had to make the hard decision to put down my best friend Casey, a Shepherd-Border Collie mix, who was 15 years old. I miss her and miss having dogs in general. I am a very active, caring, and detail-oriented person.
As for my home, I live in the city with my long-term boyfriend in an older house with wood floors. I do not have a gate to block off the upstairs, but can consider purchasing one if dog owners would prefer (will probably end up getting one eventually for our future dog). Dogs can have free-range of the house (other than basement which is closed off). We have a backyard, however it is not fully fenced so the dogs could not be left unattended. I like to take dogs for runs, but I am also good with moving slowly with senior dogs. Our furniture is old so we don't mind if the dog likes to sit on a chair or couch.
I work 8-4 so will not be able to watch the dogs during the day, however my boyfriend works remotely (from home) and agrees dogsit when I am absent (he's a dog-loving guy!). My best days to dogsit are weekends during the day (or overnight!). We would prefer to not travel with the dog in our car unless it is a non-shedding breed, or some other accommodation is agreed upon (such as a large cover for the seat).
