About Katharina

3 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
Hi there!

I am a mature student living near the U of Calgary. I want to board animals because I absolutely love pets of all kinds and I'd like to make some extra income. I grew up on a farm with 2 dogs but after about 3 years one passed away and the other now belongs to my cousin who has lots of space for her to roam.

I live in a small apartment which is why I don't currently have pets of my own, but I think it would make a great temporary home for your pet. I walk a lot so I would ensure your dog would get the exercise that he/she needs! I have classes for an hour to two hours in the mornings, but on Thursdays I have an evening class from 2-4pm. Other than my classtimes I am generally quite flexible. Meeting the pet prior to boarding would be good but not totally necessary if I get some info beforehand.

I've never had experience with dogs recovering from surgery or those that require medication.

Katharina watched my Takoda, part Husky, part Akita, two very needy breeds but I wouldn't have it any other way! I was quite hesitant to leave as he has extreme separation anxiety and will not eat or drink, however I had to go and heard great things of Katharina from a coworker whose used her before so my decision was made. We had a trial 30 minutes at a park and he seemed to warm up very quickly to her so that gave me a little more peace about leaving. After coming home he was still the same weight and had not stopped eating or drinking the entire two weeks! She kept up with his high energy level as well as gave him enough attention to satisfy his needs. I recommend her to everyone! I've already planned my vacation to Italy and have no fear to leave my Koda bear with Katharina. I'd give her 5 stars!

Katharina will be a great pet sitter. She has taken excellent care of my cocker spaniel, and she has also been responsible for taking care of my home when I was away so I know her caring abilities first hand. She is a very responsible young woman who is accountable and she would be very reliable, on time, and would take care of all things she is responsible for.
Beyond this and even more important I think is that Katharina has a warm heart, is caring and kind, and extremely giving. She would go above and beyond to give good attentive loving care. She would get along well with the owners, and she is excellent taking care in all of her relationships, but she would also love the animals, and take good care of them. Katharina is a social worker, and prides herself on taking care of anyone in need. She has a long history of volunteer service, was an excellent social work student who won awards for her academic achievements, and as well she has history working in the service industry (she worked for the women's shelter, and overseas with Douglas College community work in Africa).
You couldn't get a better employee and I would highly recommend her as an employee for your business! She's an amazing young woman.
