About Kathy

30 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
I own my own house where I live with my 2 adult sons & 3 adult daughters (2 of which are my beloved dogs, Sadie & Lily). My home is a 4-level split with a large backyard surrounded by a tall privacy fence. My 2 girls are very friendly & get along well with other dogs but a meet & greet is a must beforehand.

I take the dogs out for regular walks, two times per day. We love to play & splash around in the baby pool, as the season allows, of course! I love rewarding good behavior. I have no problems working with special needs dogs and am more than willing to accommodate special requests within reason.

My daily goal is to love and care for each and every dog as if they're my own. Whether you're going out of town or just going out for the day, you'll want to make sure they're with someone who will love and care for them just as much as you. Should you have any questions or concerns, please, don't hesitate to ask me.

There's never a dull moment at Kathy's Canine Capers!

My experience with Kathy was seamless and great. Ollie and I visited Kathy who has two dogs prior to his vacay there and they got along very well. When I dropped Ollie off, he was comfortable and ready to play with his new friends. Kathy updated me regularly a few times a day, even over Christmas break and was happy to share he loved his time there. Ollie has been calm and happy since being home; I think he got all of his energy out with her family and in her back yard! I'd definitely request Kathy again.
Our dog just stayed with Kathy for a week. Kathy sent us many appreciated pictures and seeing our dogs together on that first day really did calm any fears. It helped us enjoy our vacation without worry. Kathy is kind and professional and our pup warmed to her immediately. The real tell for me however, is the fact that when we went to pick him up and were asking about his stay, he was totally comfortable and not pulling to get out the door - that actually told me more than anything! Thank you so much Kathy!
Kathy was a great host and made my first separation from my pup very comfortable! She provided pictures and updates and did her best to make my girl feel at home. Would definitely use again.
Kathy was great and treated our 2 dogs like her own! Our retriever loved the huge fenced backyard. Kathy sent us pictures and updates daily. We will definitely be using Kathy again and recommend her to anyone looking for a true dog loving host.
Thanks Kathy!

Sophie loves her new buddies and came back happy, healthy, and tired... A fenced yard and a sitter who gives the pets the run of the house is always a good idea for my pup. Thank you Kathy!
I felt very comfortable leaving Trudy in Kathy's home. Her two dogs were friendly and easy to be around. She sent pictures of Trudy frequently, and updates about how and what's she was doing. Trudy slept in Kathy's bedroom just as she does at home. They took neighborhood walks. I'm sure Trudy had a good time at Kathy's home.
While checking out Digvacay, I choose to met with Kathy, was very impressed with the way she handled the meeting with my dog. She imidiately made SamE and me feel comfortable. As SamE is use to being in my bed Kathy had no problem to let him in hers if he choose to. She keep me updated on how he was doing and sent pictures by text. Even though I was out of touch, I was relaxed on my vacation feeling that my dog was being pampered. I will be pleased to leave him with her again.
Kathy was seriously amazing! We have a very high energy Cattle Dog and he had a blast! We got updates through out his stay and she let me know how he was doing at the house.

I would recommend Kathy to anyone and we will be coming back for more reservations.
We recently found ourselves in a bind when our normal dog sitters were vacationing, and we needed to find someone to watch our dog, Reyna, for an overnight. My husband and I have never boarded her and we did not want to start. I began looking on the internet for options and came across DogVacay. The reviews looked great, and you could even find dog lovers who would watch your family member near your location. We found Kathy and contacted her via email. She responded within 2 hours (wow!), and we had scheduled a meet and greet for the next day. We met on neutral territory so her dogs, Sadie and Lily, could get to know Reyna. Her dogs are really sweet, and Kathy provided documentation to show that her animals were up-to-date on their vaccinations. Reyna can be incredibly tentative around new people, but she warmed right up to Kathy and her dogs.

When it came time to drop Reyna off at Kathy's house, my husband and I left feeling comfortable that Reyna was in capable and loving hands. Kathy treated her like she would her own dogs. We received a text picture of our furry baby sprawled out on the carpet after a delicious meal with an update that she was doing just fine. The next day when we went to pick up Reyna, she wanted to stay with Kathy! I take that as a great sign that she was happy and well cared for in our absence.

Overall, Kathy was wonderful and such a relief for us in a tight pinch! She was professional and she clearly loves animals. I highly recommend her home for your furry family member, and we will definitely be using her services again. Thanks, Kathy!
Kathy and her family are the best! They were great with our dog (Tug) and he seemed to feel right at home. I would highly recommend Kathy to anyone needing a place for their dog to stay while they are away. We will definitely use her again!
