I am a pet sitter for the love of animals, so I only care for ONE family's pet(s) at a time with no other animals in my home to keep the atmosphere comfortable, relaxing and fun for your pet and me. Dogvacay writes I take care of "two pets" at a time, but that's only if they are from the same family.Your pet(s) will get the maximum attention they deserve with no other distractions in my home (other than my lovely husband). I have been a professional pet sitter for fifteen years now, and treat every animal as if it were my own. I started by fostering dogs but when they found homes, their new owners needed vacation sitting. I give pets as much attention and love as I can, which is a lot because I have a big dent in my heart for animals. I have no children and I work from my studio painting, so I'm almost always home unless excersizing at the gym or running errands. Because I work from my house, I am able to give more time to your pet who will need extra love while you are away. I change their water regularly, brush them, clean their paws (especially when there is salt on the streets) dry them when they get wet and most important, I nurture them to pieces.
I live minutes away from the Vet. and if your pet is on a special diet, I will follow your directions to a "T". I give oral medications, and can inject as well.
I consider Tallman Mountain State Park my real backyard since it's one block away, and long walks down the trail are a given (my husband loves to help out as well). If your dog is a runner, I love to jog with pets down the path. I am three blocks away from the mile long Piermont Pier (a very social walk for your pet considering how many dog walkers are there) giving your pet the treat of walking along the Hudson River. I have a six foot to ten foot fence making it easy for early morning or late pee breaks, and if additional stretching and running is needed in addition to the three walks a day I take them on, it's a perfect size for letting them play.
If you allow your pet to sleep on your bed, then I allow your pet to sleep on my bed. They can lounge on my sofa and from the window, watch the action on the street (their very own dog TV). I leave the "real" television on for when I do errands if soothing music is needed. You'll be encouraged to text me as frequently as you need, I understand completely how you may be missing your pet. I know I would.
I live on the NY/NJ border and am 15 minutes North of the George Washington Bridge, so your pet can come to the country and be on its own vacation while you are on yours. I have my regular customers who take the extra trip to come to my house from Brooklyn, Manhattan and Westchester knowing they'll get the best care for their pet (I'm worth the trip).
I'm a former pre-school teacher and am very patient, considerate and understanding. If your dog has an accident on my rug, it's not the end of the world for me. I understand when pets are in new surroundings, sometimes their nerves get the best of them until they adjust. If your pet won't eat due to anxiety, I encourage them by offering the food from my hands - wet or dry, stinky or sticky, etc...
I am fond of older pets as well since they most often are in need of extra attention, whether with medication or tenderness, and definitely need to be kept out of kennels no matter what.
Thanks for reading this book of mine.
I hope to meet your loved one soon.
Best to you!
