In addition to having shared my home with dogs and cats my whole life, I'm also a certified veterinary technician who has been in the veterinary field for the last 10 years. I've got the abilities to care for medically challenged or geriatric companions. I've also got a soft spot for dogs who may have some behavior issues.
If you'd like me to watch your companion in my home, s/he will be treated just like one of my own, playing in the fenced yard with the other dogs, sleeping on the couch and enjoying the occasional game of "chase the cat". Our back yard is not huge, but it is fenced in and provides a great place for a small number of dogs to run around. Our house isn't fancy, but we'd rather our own pets stay in a place where they can sprawl across the couch or drool water on the flooring without anyone getting upset. Pets are messy...so our house can be as well. To be truthful, I'd much rather play fetch in the backyard than clean the carpets!
If you'd prefer to have your companion stay in your home, you'll come home to a tired, happy pet and your house in the same (or better!) condition than when you left it!
We're also lucky enough to have access to a cabin on a lake, and a 10 minute drive to Wisconsin Point, which means field trips are almost guaranteed when the weather is nice!
