My Name is Samantha and I have a very strong love for dogs and animals in general. I am a fur-momma to two pups of my own, Lilly and Hunter. My fiancé and I currently live in a townhouse as we are saving up to buy a house after our wedding in September of 2017. We made sure when moving into our townhome that it was suitable for our two pups. We are an end unit with a nice size yard, we have multiple paths around our house, and our dog’s favorite is our screen in porch. The dogs would sunbathe and nap out there all day long if we let them!
I am a nanny and a wedding planner. I have a very flexible schedule where I am home with my dogs during the day. My dogs typically are not left for more then two hours at a time and if I had a guest dog in my home, I would make sure to not leave them longer then an hour. On top of a being a nanny and a wedding planner, I have spent the last 8 months being the fundraising coordinator for Coco’s Heart Dog Rescue. I have always wanted to rescue dogs and help in which ever way I can so that’s why my dogs are adopted. Just like humans with children, my fiancé and I plan our outings around the dogs. We take them with us whenever we can and if we can’t, we are very fortunate to have parents that love their grand-pups just as much as we do so they watch them. Both of my dogs have separation anxiety so I know first hand. I might have a little separation anxiety myself when I leave my pups.
I love to take the dogs to the dog park 2-3 times a week depending on the weather. I also walk my pups 2-3 times a day. If I have errands to run, I usually take the dogs with me and we stop at Starbucks or Culvers for a pupa-chino or pup cup. I would say my dogs have life made. My dogs free roam the house and are aloud on furniture. We have dog beds in every room of the house but of course my bed is always the winner! If your dog does not free roam the house while you are away, I would need you to provide the kennel or crate as I do not have one anymore. When my dogs are left alone, the TV is left on for them (Disney channel) and the blinds above the couch are left open so they can look out the window.
Meet and Greets prior to the vacay are a must for me, as I would never want to put my dogs in danger. I would want to know that your dog(s) got alone with mine, as I am sure you would want the same thing.
I think it is important to have dogs stick to their regular routine and I think that having dogs come stay with me is beneficial for the dog and my dogs. I think socializing dogs is a must and I would much rather my dogs be in a home where they can get that love and stick to a routine verse sending to a boarding facility.
I have watched many dogs through out the years. I started out watching dogs in the dog’s home but as I got into a relationship with my fiancé and got our own place, I have stuck strictly to care in my home. I have my nanny family’s dog quite often. He is a 120 lbs. Newfie Great Pyrenees mix and I love him as my own. He comes to my house for play dates, random sleepovers, or for weeks at a time. My nanny family has spread my name around and I am now the dog babysitter on the block along with the children babysitter ;) I watch friend’s dogs, family members dogs, and I just say the more dogs in my life, the better. I can’t wait to meet your fur-child and give your dog a true puppy vacation!
I spoil my pups and can’t wait to spoil yours!
