About Traci

35 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
We are The Winters.

We provide a safe and loving home for your pet(s) so you can relax and enjoy your vacation. We offer a large home a quarter mile from the Highline Trail and Aspen Grove, with a grassy backyard, and no kennels, cages, or concrete floors, unless you bring them. Our grassy yard is completely fenced with standard 6 foot wood. We also have a doggie ramp to the grass for those with stiff joints and/or back issues. Our guests have access to the entire first floor and our backyard, and they are welcome on the furniture.

We offer both daytime and nighttime supervised care of your dog(s), and lots of love and attention. We are currently "in between" dogs of our own, so your pup(s) have our home and family to themselves. We generally book one family at a time unless we are confident both parties will get along. We offer daily walks about a half mile round trip. Your dog is welcome to come with us or stay home.

We are in our 40's with an energetic 9 year old son. I grew up in Southern California, and my husband grew up in South Texas. We have lived in Colorado for over five years. We love it here and plan to stay.

We have extensive experience with elderly dogs, handicapped dogs, and pugs, but we love ALL canines equally. As lifelong dog owners, we know what we were always looking for, but could never find when we had to travel.

As a rule, we prefer to book after a prior meet-n-greet. It helps both parties decide if our home and your pet(s) are a good match. It also helps your pet with any anxiety after drop off as it's a place they've explored before. We prefer a minimum two-night stay, but are very flexible for repeat guests. We charge $34 per night for your first pup, and $25 per night for each additional guest. We also have flexible drop-off and pick-up times.

We offer no "bag fees." Meaning, your dog can bring as many suitcases as necessary to be comfortable. I.e. his/her bed, sleeping crate, toys, doggie dish, leash, food, treats, etc. We will provide a questionnaire at our first meeting that will ask you to describe your pet's exact feeding times and instructions, potty times and instructions, and other general care information. This is required at drop-off or before.

We prefer mild-mannered, well-behaved, and friendly dogs. Energy is OK. Aggressiveness, dominance, or destructiveness is not.

Please have your dog's immunizations up-to-date and provide an emergency contact.

Your pet must be able to be unsupervised, either in his crate or free in our home, for up to two hours during occasional trips to the supermarket.

Your pet must be 110% housebroken.

We look forward to meeting your pups,

The Winters

As before,Finnegan loves going on vacation at the Winter's. As puppy parents, we can enjoy our time away without any worries! We love the photos to confirm that he is settled in and having a great time. Repeat customers over several years
We really appreciated Traci taking us as her sole reservation on a holiday weekend. Our dog, Sammy, is a senior Corgi that requires an extensive list of medications twice a day. Traci did an excellent with all the meds and was very attentive to his needs. Sammy seemed very comfortable and content in the pictures Traci sent. She had a nice yard for Sammy to hang out in. We would definitely use Traci again!
Traci is great with Remy! The photos and updates are wonderful and Remy is always excited to see Traci when I drop him off. I will continue to use Traci as a sitter and would recommend her to anyone!
Our corgi had a great time with Traci and her family! She sent tons of photos that we loved seeing while we were away. Mcfly is still pretty young and energetic, so I was worried about him overstaying his welcome and annoying Traci. This wasn't the case though! He got to run around Traci's yard and play TONS of fetch! He had so much fun that he was exhausted when he got home, which was a fantastic bonus for us! :) I would definitely reccomend the Winters to watch your furbaby. We hope to use them again soon!
Sitka is very comfortable with Traci and her family. She sends updates and photos and is happy to do whatever is needed to make sure all goes well.
Sitka had a great day with Traci. He is a, new to the family, rescue dog with some health issues so we are not 100% sure yet how he will respond to all different situations. I picked Traci's home because there would be no other dogs around and she is home to spend quality time with Sitka. He was a calm and happy boy!
Opie loved it! Thanks!
This was our dog's second stay with Traci and it went super well again. My dogs are happy when they are there, our family loves the text picture updates daily, and we never worry about them while we are away.
Once again Traci-and her family- did a wonderful job of taking care of Skooter. I really appreciated the photos and updates. I could see that she was being well cared for and loved. Thank you Traci!
We highly endorse The Winters! Our Carrin, Calvin, was comfortable from the minute he arrived. Traci and her son Warren played ball, took walks and let Calvin hang out with them. Traci even made doggie treats!!
Once again Traci took care of our little old doxie. She does such a great job. I've used her many times over the last year and will continue to use her as my #1 sitter.
Traci watched our (3) large dogs for 12 days. Traci was always responsive to all of my questions and concerns that I had before I left town. Traci was kind and caring to our dogs and sent me picture updates almost daily (which I really wanted). Traci kept our dogs on their daily eating routine and was able to administer medicine as requested. Upon our return our dogs were happy, healthy and seemed to have settled into Traci's house with no problem. I highly recommend Traci and our family will use her again when our next vacation calls for it! Thank you Traci!
Waffles was so excited when we drove into Traci's driveway. He could hardly wait to get into her house. It was another great stay!
Another fabulous stay with Traci. Waffles was so excited to see her when we arrived and he was very well cared for. Traci was great about sending us pictures and keeping us updated. Thanks Traci!
Traci did a fabulous job caring for our Waffles. She was good about keeping in touch with us and sharing pictures. She would always respond quickly to our questions.I could tell that Waffles loved her as he kept running back to her when I came to pick him up. I was actually worried her wouldn't want to come home. Traci's home is one where our dog could relax, receive plenty of attention and was well cared for. We would definitely use her again!
Another great stay with Traci.
Traci took great care of our precious pup and made him feel at home. She was easy to reach and responsive when we had questions. Highly recommended!
Tried several places and hosts and we always choose Traci's family whenever our mutual schedules permit. They aren't close to our home, but worth the drive. It's the only place they stay that our dogs are happy to see when we drive up.
Another great stay with Traci!
Traci and her family were so good with Pepper that I don't think she wanted to come home. We really appreciated the texts with pictures she sent of Pepper enjoying herself. We would use Traci again in a heartbeat. Thanks so much!
Traci recently took care of my 14 yr old dachshund for the first time. I wasn't sure how it would work out because of her age and health issues. I had nothing to worry about. Traci was great from the first meet and greet. My dog fit right in with her family. Traci did a wonderful job keeping me updated with pictures and texts during the week. I will be using Traci again for sure!
Maddy and Choco absolutely LOVE spending time with Traci and her family. They are well-exercised and cared for. Maybe a little spoiled, but they ARE on vacation. She even baked them dog-cookies for us to take home and gave us the recipe. They are ALWAYS our first choice of your travels.
I can't say enough good things about Traci and her family. I left my rambunctious 12-month old lab puppy in very good hands. Ruby was a bit over-the-top anxious when I dropped her off (she had been traveling in a car for 3 days), but when I picked her up a week later she clearly had had a nice time settling in with Traci's family. Traci handled all of Ruby's adjustment issues with calmness and aplomb, and I most certainly would place Ruby in her family's care again (if they would take her!).
Our experience with the Winter's was amazing. From the start, the process of acclimating our dog to the Winter's was very professional and enjoyable. First, communicating through email was very easy, and responses from the Winter's to our questions came back thorough and quick. Then setting up a time to meet was easy and Traci asked several great questions about our family's lifestyle and care that left me convinced our dog would be in good hands. While sitting for our dog, the Winter's sent plenty of updates and pictures to us of his time in their care. We picked up our dog feeling so grateful that he was taken care of so well, and know we have a great family that genuinely cares for dogs as much as we do. We highly recommend the Winter's to care for your pets!!!
I cannot say enough good things about Tracy and her family's care of our two dogs, Maddy and Choco. They were well exercised, and we received updates and photos each day. This allowed us to relax on our vacation without a care.
