I have more than 10 years’ experience walking single and multiple dogs of various breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments.
I do have two female dogs and two small female cats of my own.
The dogs that I watch cannot be overly dominant nor dog/cat aggressive. Dogs that are known to chase small animals are included in this.
Because of this I require a meet and greet 24 hours in advance. For long term reservations I ask that I watch the dog for one day care to see how they do in my house before taking on the long term reservation.
This experience includes personal ownership of dogs and volunteering at many animal shelters. I have volunteered at Watermelon Mountain Ranch Animals shelter and The Animal Welfare Shelter. I’ve also owned a Labrador retriever for 10 years and we walk a mile regularly.
I tend to walk at a leisurely pace but I can step that up for more active dogs and slower for more sedate walkers. I am able to take dogs for runs if necessary. My house has many parks and walking trails to take dogs for walks. I also feel comfortable in exploring new areas around Albuquerque.
I enjoy walks at all times of the day. In inclement weather I understand the need to dress the dogs as needed. I am comfortable using a gentle leader, leashes, and harnesses.
I am competent at assessing situations for danger and hazards. I am competent in providing basic first aid. I live in a safe neighborhood with a large fenced yard with lots of grass and trees.
I always carry prophylactic measures for potty time. I carry plenty of fresh water and know how to monitor for signs of heat stroke. I am able to work a variety of hours, including weekends and holidays. I am young, energetic, hardworking and willing to learn.
I LOVE working with all different types of animals and found that each animal has their own unique personality and quirks.
