My wife and I have owned dogs for most of our lives. All of our current dogs are rescues from Colorado and Florida. We have one who is blind and has diabetes. So, we are used to giving insulin injections and oral medications. My wife teaches school during the day, but I am retired and home most times.
We have a single story home with a nice yard and a screened lanai. The floors are all tile except in the bedrooms where they are carpet. we have a huge pile of different toys for the dogs to play with. We also have a nice, quiet neighborhood with plenty of space to walk.
We love animals. Typically we play with the dogs during the day. We walk them either early morning or in the evening when the pavement is cooler as to not burn the pads on their paws. We might walk two blocks, or we might walk a mile. It all depends on how tired they get. We have three small dogs at home. They pretty much have rule of the house, but they also know how to behave. they take plenty of potty breaks. We also keep two bowls full of water and ice for them. We have a feeding schedule for them to help maintain insulin levels with our one little booger...lol. Otherwise, its a lot of loving and playing.
We have plenty of experience with giving medications, bathing, walking, and correcting bad behaviors. We are also home most of the time. When we are gone, it is usually for a tip to the store or Wal-Mart. Our dogs are very friendly and get along with other dogs and people.
