About Julie

25 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
I am a full time resident of Idyllwild with a 1/4 acre fenced backyard and access through my property to the Ernie Maxwell Scenic Trail.
Some visitors to Idyllwild don't bring their canine companions on vacation to the area because they are unfamiliar with the wildlife and rural mountain surroundings. I offer a safe alternative to leaving beloved pets at home or alone in a motel or cabin while visiting the area.
We have access to a fenced 2.5 acre private estate (a.k.a. doggie playground) in which we let our canine guests romp with my girl Beezie, and her pup Nella!
Car rides, creek walks, walkabouts in town and on the Scenic Trail are options for daily activities.
I will customize the visit to meet your requests.
Only one canine family at a time is hosted. You are assured that your best friend is getting abundant attention and joyful exercise.
We can't wait to welcome you to the mountain!

This was my very first experience with dogvacay and I couldn't be happier! While attending the Idyllwild Film Festival, Julie was so nice, accommodating that I knew my dog would be in good hands. She had a beautiful home and a very secure backyard for roaming. My rescue chihuahua, Butchie, had some separation anxiety and Julie was very attentive and knew exactly what to do. What a wonderful experience and I would definitely use her again.
Julie is a fantastic dog sitter. She will treat your pup like her own. I highly recommend Julie. Max loves going there.
Rogue had a great time with Julie and her pups! Julie did a great job introducing the dogs with a meet and greet. She genuinely cares for the well-being of the dogs under her care and we felt really comfortable leaving our precious girl with her.
Julie was very accommodating with our scheduling which allowed us to go on a great hike while we knew our pup was taken care of. Her girls played wonderfully with our Lab and she was a bit sad to leave I think. We look forward to coming back to Idyllwild to visit and let our pup romp around some more!
Super impressed! Julie was an excellent host to our Giant Fur Babies! I have 2 Bernese Mountain Dogs that I don't easily trust with anyone. They are big dogs and are sensitive. We left them for about 8 hours when we went hiking. They felt at home right away with Julie and her dogs. Julie was very communicative in setting the visit up and giving easy directions. She has a HUGE property (fenced in) that the dogs can run around in. I thought they would be a dirty mess, but unbelievably they were not! When we picked them they were exhausted! They played with dogs and got lots of Julie and her friends love and attention all day. They slept the rest of the day/night. I am so happy we found her so that it will make it easy for us to visit again and not have to worry about them at all. Don't go anywhere else, Julie is the perfect dog watcher and will take care of them as if they were her own dogs.
She was great. Fred
Absolutely incredible! Jewels took in our chocolate lab and treated her as if she were her very own. We felt so comfortable with her and our decision to have her care for our puppy. In fact, we are certain that our dog came back an even better dog because of Jewel's care. We absolutely recommend her and would give her a 5+ star rating if it were an option.
After meeting Julie, and seeing where our dog Bodie was going to be staying for a week, we knew immediately that we had chosen the right person and right place. During Bodie's week with Julie, he enjoyed romps in the woods, drives into town and lots of play time with the neighborhood dogs.

We wanted Bodie to stay in a place that was cooler than Palm Springs, in a home with very few other dogs and easy access to nature. Bingo!

Julie is extremely responsible and takes her dog sitting seriously. We'll definitely use her again.
