About Hunter

5 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
Hi there!

My name is Hunter! While I am new to this site, I've been working with dogs and caring for them for years. I am a UNC graduate with a degree in Studio Art, and have a very flexible schedule, as I work for myself as a handyman, gardener, driving via Uber, and pet sitting.

I've worked with dogs for most of my life. Growing up, my family always included a pup -- and often a cat, a few gerbils, and fish! In recent years I've volunteered at and fostered dogs (and cats) through the humane society.

Through my experience I've gained a love of dogs of all temperaments. I've worked with puppies and gray-haired dogs, dogs with disabilities, dogs who have never interacted with humans before, and dogs who could not get enough affection and playtime. I've enjoyed dogs who'd never leave their parent's laps if they could and dogs who can go on four hour hikes and still be rearing to go!

I offer a number of services, including:

- Dog and house sitting
- Drop-in visits
- Walks, hikes, and runs
- Trips to the dog park
- Doggy day care
- Trips to the vet
- Bathing
- Dog massage

I also have experience training both puppies and mature dogs, although please note: I am not a professional trainer! I adhere strictly to a positive reinforcement routine (no punishment) and focus on small treats (for the food-driven) and praise (for the cuddle-driven) to train pups in both manners and in more expansive behaviors.

And in addition to taking care of your pup, I can provide these services to make your time away smoother:

- Shuttling to and from the airport
- Lawn care, gardening, indoor and outdoor plant care
- House cleaning
- and more! If you're wondering if I can help, just ask!

If your pup has special dietary restrictions, needs constant companionship (for separation anxiety), or, in the case of house sitting, needs to be let out several times during the night, etc., please let me know. I'm happy to accommodate any requirements, though in some cases it might be necessary for me to adjust rates.

I cannot host dogs at my home at this time, so I have to restrict my services to sitting at your home and going out and about; although some visits to my neighborhood for a romp through the backyard and fields might be possible :)

Hunter is wonderful! He has watched our two dogs on many occasions, and they are always so happy to see Hunter. My dogs are very playful, and they love playing with him. I like to keep in touch while I'm out of town, and he is very easy to get in contact with. Hunter is very reliable, I'd recommend him to anyone who needs someone to watch their fur baby!

I met Hunter at Forsyth Humane Society, where he volunteered and fostered. I have two socially challenged dogs that I stress about when I leave town, and I felt at ease leaving them with Hunter. My dogs loved him and were sad to see him go. He is my go-to pet sitter now. Highly recommend!

After meeting Hunter, I felt very comfortable letting him stay in my home to take care of the dogs for the weekend. He also got back with me in a timely manner which I appreciated. When I got back home not only was there a nice little note on how his stay was but I'm pretty sure I came back to a cleaner house than I left. I will definitely book Hunter in the future.
