This was our pups' 2nd stay with Jan...we enjoyed our get-away without any worries about our dogs. Jan goes above and beyond and Roscoe and Stumpy are clearly happy to be in her home during their stays.
Jan, the host, was very responsive to our emails.

She has a beautiful dog friendly home will a large fenced in back yard. Layla, our 5 month old retreiver mix, adapted easily to the environment and enjoyed the company of Jan's two dogs.

It was refreshing to leave our dog with someone and not have to worry. Our dog was happy to see us when we came to pick her up, but not necessarily happy to leave.

We will definitely leave our dog with Jan again.
Jan was very responsive to all emails and my many questions (since it was my first time using the site and first time leaving my dog, I had a lot of them!). She came recommended to me by a family member and I am so glad that I found her - I felt much better about leaving my dog with a dog lover than in a kennel where he would be locked up all day!

She was very flexible with pick up/drop off hours. When we dropped our dog off, we could tell that she was a genuine dog lover and knew how to handle multiple dogs at once. There were other dogs that she was sitting when we used her and she let the dogs have fun together (both inside and outside!).

We sort-of requested this, but she was very good with sending us updates on how our puppy was doing which was very relieving for us since it was the first time we have left him.

Overall, Jan was very kind and we would use her again in a heartbeat!
Jan answered our requests for a meet and greet and a reservation for our pups very promptly, despite having very short notice from us. Her home is dog friendly and she made us, as well as our pets, feel welcomed. She has plenty of spaces in which to separate guest and resident pets until all appear to be accepting of each other. That was reassuring to us, because our dogs have not interacted frequently with other dogs. When we called during our time away, Jan filled us in on how our two were interacting with the others. Since Roscoe was in Jan's lap whenever I called, I didn't need to know how he was responding to her! Although we took bedding for Roscoe and Stumpy, it seems they prefered to sleep with Jan...I was a little afraid they wouldn't want to come back home with us! Jan's home has a large, fenced yard and she stays with them for their outside time. As Stumpy is somewhat of an escape artist, that was also reassuring to us.
I can recommend Hub City Dog Care and Rescue to anyone looking for a home away from home for pets. I know our dogs were happier in a home setting than in a kennel at our vet's, and I enjoyed my vacation more, knowing they were well cared for and treated with love. Thank you, Jan!
