My husband and I own a home in Mint Hill, NC, on the eastern side of Charlotte. Our dogs are treated like the family members they are and they are very social and incredibly used to new dogs coming and going. Our dogs enjoy the luxury of sleeping on our couch and on the many dog beds we have throughout the house, but we are happy to enforce a no furniture rule for your dog if that is your rule at home. We have a large yard with a 6ft tall fence so your dog would have plenty of room to run and play.
Our dogs are very good at matching the energy level of the visiting dog and they are very respectful of other dogs' personal space while they are in our home. If your dog is playful they are happy to engage in a good wrestling match, but if your dog prefers to just relax on the couch he or she will not be disturbed.
We have fostered nearly 400 dogs for various rescues in the past; both male and female, large and small, newborn to senior. We have handled many different personalities and quirks and we are very comfortable giving medications or anything else needed for a dog while in our care. We are also happy to take multiple dogs if you have more than one furry family member that needs a place to stay.
We try to match sleeping arrangements as close to what the dog is used to at home as possible. If the dog is used to sleeping in the bedroom, they are welcome to stay in our room with us. If the guest dog is used to sleeping in a crate, we have many crates and dog beds of all sizes that they are welcome to use while they are here. We are fine with small breed dogs used to sleeping in the bed joining us in ours.
We are currently able to watch dogs under 40lbs.
Pick up and drop off times during the week are 4:30-9pm. Weekends and school holidays are flexible (my husband is a teacher and is off for school holidays).
I love taking photos of the dogs, so I am more than happy to send regular photo and video updates at your request.
Please let me know if you have any questions about our home and what you can expect if you leave your dog in our care.
