Pet care experience
Hi! We are Lindsay and Kelly & we live in Cherry Valley, just outside Picton and close to the Sandbanks Provincial Park. We lost our best friend, an American Bulldog named Nugget, to bone cancer. We weren’t ready to welcome another dog into our family just yet but had so much love to share with animals so we started continued dogsitting to get our dog fix and it was the beginning of a wonderful adventure! Now we have adopted a scruffy little terrier mix, Beans, so we use this site both as dog owners and sitters / walkers / visitors. We have plenty of animal experience. We have also previously raised chickens, guinea fowl and Kunekune pigs. We have experience with cats, donkeys, sheep and horses, Lindsay volunteered at a local horse rescue for several years and has previously part boarded a horse. Lindsay is also kind of obsessed with parrots. We love dogs and we'll treat yours as part of our family. Let us know if you have any questions!

Oh thank heavens for Lindsay and Kelly! Ozzy loved his stay and we loved getting happy photos of him enjoying his many walks. It was a huge reassurance to know that he was being lovingly cared for. Our house is a comfy, cozy little pad with a big back yard to play in. We share it with Beans, a funny little terrier mix who is happy to share her space with other dogs and may join us on walks from time to time. Your best friend will have lots of room to play outside and will be super comfy inside as well. We don't allow dogs on our beds but are happy to share our bedroom with them.

We always prefer a meet and greet before confirming a booking. We want to make sure the dogs get along, but also that we humans are a good fit for each other. If there are any special needs for your pup, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate.
A typical day
It's all dependent on the dog but our day usually starts with a nice walk, followed by nap time (for the dogs) while I work. There is a daybed in my home office where Beans is usually snoring while I have Zoom meetings, and she is happy to share it! We'll go for another walk at lunch, and again after work. Walks are weather dependent - we may walk down a country road, on a trail at a neighbouring property, or head on over to Sandbanks beach or trails.

Availability
I work full time from home, so I have the flexibility to take great care of your furry friend. There will be playtime in the backyard, good walks and plenty of snuggles and treats. I love all dogs but have a real soft spot for gentle giants and sweet seniors.
