Pet care experience
I have always had animals in my life in some capacity, so I’m comfortable with a variety of pets and breeds. Outside of having dogs and cats of my own, I have experience fostering, volunteering in animal shelters, and working as a pet sitter for friends and family. I recently left my job as a social worker to stay home full-time with my two daughters, so I have a lot of flexibility in my schedule to meet the needs of your family. I have a special place in my heart for senior pets. My husband and I have adopted and cared for a number of senior cats and dogs over the past 10 years. I know how important it is to have trust in your sitter & feel confident your pet will get the same love and care as they do at home. Feel free to message with any questions you may have. We have a large, fenced-in yard (fence is about 6 feet high). We will only board for one family at a time, so your dog(s) will be the only ones in the home. I have one cat who keeps mostly to herself and who is comfortable with dogs. I will send daily pictures & updates so you can know what we’re up to while you’re away.

A typical day
Our day involves a lot of play - indoors and outdoors. We spend a lot of time outside. I am never gone for more than a couple of hours, so there will be plenty of love and attention at home. We often walk the loop in our neighborhood (about ½ a mile) throughout the day. On the weekends, we will sometimes go to Umstead or to a nearby cross-country trail for a long walk outside. We can add/remove this type of outing depending on your dog’s energy level and needs.

Since I am currently home full-time, I have a lot of flexibility and can match your dog’s typical schedule as much as possible. We spend a lot of time outdoors: walking the quiet loop in our neighborhood or running around in the backyard. Depending on your pup’s energy level, they can get plenty of exercise and/or lounge time outside.
