About Sheila

30 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
We love all breeds, sizes and temperaments, and can accommodate small or medium dogs at our home with doggie door and completely enclosed dog area. Bring your furry friends to stay at our home near Grant Rd. and Tucson Blvd. We are happy to host up to 2 dogs from the same family at a time so that everyone gets the love and attention they want and deserve.

Mellow, April, Charlie and I go for walks morning and evening and would love to have company plus there's unlimited indoor/outdoor playtime at home. We are very casual about dogs on the furniture or in bed too so your pals can feel right at home.

We also offer: - Bathing - Additional walks - Care for elderly or disabled dogs - trips to the vet or groomer for routine appointments - transportation for you to and from the airport for an additional fee. Inquire within about these additional services! Looking to board your pup for the holidays? We are available! We can't wait to meet you and your fur-babies!

I have had dogs all of my adult life mostly big ones so I have had a lot of experience taking care of them. Mellow and I have been together for a few years, I was fortunate to find him on Craigslist after my last big dog passed away. April has joined our family recently and is a welcome addition. Charlie is the guest that never went home and we love him too. We are centrally located near the U of A.

Sheila was wonderful! We had a soccer event in Tucson & needed a place for our 4 1/2 yo Pomerian mix to stay overnight. Sheila was immediately responsive to our Dogvacay request and able to arrange a drop off that morning. Andy, our dog, was well cared for and I received several pictures/updates on my phone from Sheila. Andy did well with the other dogs and received a small toy gift that he has been playing with at home.
My older pal came home very calm and not stressed like she did at Boarding kennels. She was happy and I think she had a good time, even though she is never around other dogs.
Getting a photo text every other day from Shelia made me feel at ease and my trip was less stressful. My doggie even received a goodie bag! She has been playing with her new toy all week!

I will never use anyone other than Sheila to doggie sit my old pal.
Sheila was just fantastic. Perfectly accommodating for our Shih Tzu's needs. A safe and welcoming place for a small dog. Bella felt perfectly at home for the entire two weeks!
Sheila and her dog Mellow were outstanding hosts and took excellent care of our dog Zoe. Zoe is very shy and will take time adjusting to a new environment, she will spend days hiding under furniture or in her crate and even stops eating. Sheila and Mellow made Zoe feel right at home. Sheila even went out of her way when our dog stopped eating and got her wet food to get her eating again. Zoe opened up to them quicker than at other places she has stayed and she even went out for walks twice a day! (Zoe never wants to go for walks with us). I am very glad to have crossed paths with Sheila and Mellow and would definitely recommend them. Given that our dog is so special and suffers when we travel, leaving her with Sheila and Mellow gave us peace of mind and we were actually able to enjoy our trip.
Sheila was extremely helpful to me as I planned our trip to Tucson, in which we would be driving four hours to get there, then find the motel, then find Sheila's place, then get to the venue where we were to spend the evening. Never having been in central Tucson before, and not being able to decipher in Google Maps just how to get to her home, I was especially appreciative of her detailed and accurate e-mailed directions.

Because I had miscalculated our time of arrival, we appeared at her home an hour early, before she had had the chance to get home from an appointment! She had included her cell number in the correspondence so I called her. She quite graciously came home promptly. All the rest of the evening went very pleasantly for our two dogs, who, when we appeared after the program we had attended, were obviously quite comfortable with Sheila and her own pet.

The price for the evening was eminently reasonable and my only regret is that I was not able [because of a busy schedule thereafter], to get this review provided to DogVacay more timely. There is nothing that I think could be improved upon in Sheila's efforts in this matter.
