About Pam

34 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
I invite your dog to be a guest in our home. We live in a quiet neighborhood. We have a large, fenced in 75' x100', back yard that your dog will have access to 24/7 through a dog door. The back yard is double gated for extra security. Your dog will have free run in the house or back yard. Our dog, Tina, get's along famously with all dogs and so does our cat Happy. I have two active children that will give your dog lots of love. We often take hikes at Indian Valley Open Space.

December, 2016 Update: I currently have no dogs at my house because my beloved dog Tina recently got her "wings". She was an amazing dog that helped me host many doggie guests. She was always gracious and accepting of all dogs that passed through our house. I will miss her but am heartened knowing she'll be waiting for me when it's my time to get wings. I look forward to continue hosting guest doggies in my home.

We are an active household that practices a tried and true routine that dogs feel comfortable with. Feeding occurs at the same time morning and night. The dogs always get lots of love first thing in the morning. Hikes usually in the morning or sometimes in the afternoon. Younger dogs may rough house in the backyard while older dogs tend to snooze either in the house on their bed or somewhere in the garden. With the doggie door it's their choice.

If you prefer, I can come care for your dog (or other animal) at your home anywhere in Novato.

I grew up in upstate NY with 20 horses. My family owns Juckas Stables a horseback riding stable in New York established in 1965. We always had a family dog and cat in our home in addition to the animals at the farm. I have first hand experience with rabbits, ducks, chickens, sheep, a donkey, a pig, and of course...lots of horses.

I moved to Marin County in 1993. I worked at the Marin Humane Society for a total of 8 years. 5 years as an Animal Control officer, 1 year in bookkeeping and 2 years managing the spay/neuter clinic.

I understand dogs well and will make sure your dog is comfortable during his/her stay. I can help care for other animals as well. Contact me anytime.

Pam did a wonderful job taking care of my two pups for five days. I was worried they would be stressed since they are not used to being away from home. Pam sent me lots of pictures of them on walks and playing at her home. She was very caring and calm with them and they had a super time on their dog vacay. Anyone who thinks of their dogs as members of the family will be happy with Pam.
Pam understands how dogs think and can read their behavior. She knows how to introduce them, keep them happy, make sure they have what they need. She did a great job, and I would recommend her to others.
I needed my dog to be watched for about for about 4 hours. Pam was great. The house was dog friendly and I felt good leaving my do there
Pam was awesome! We met outside with her dog and took a quick walk. My dog is a senior and Pam really cared for him. I will definitely contact her again!
Taking Lucy to Pam's home is definitely like having a good friend care for her. Pam sent texts and updates as to what Lucy was doing. Though Lucy was happy to see me, im not real sure she wanted to leave!! We'll definitely use her services again.
Pam was a wonderful host! Midnight enjoyed staying with her. Our dog was treated like one of the family, it seemed, and was able to run in and out with Pam's other dogs. I'd love for Pam to watch Midnight again anytime!
As first time dogvacayers, we were so happy to find Pam and so pleased with the whole experience. All questions were answered promptly before our meet & greet, our meeting was handled really well, and I was confident our dog would be happy there. During our dog's stay, Pam sent messages and photos so that we knew he was having a fine time. Thank you so much, Pam. Benny will be back!
Pam was such a wonderful host! We booked our dog with her last minute and she was very accommodating. She sent regular updates and pictures and made me feel very comfortable our dog was being well cared for. Would highly recommend!!
Pam watched our dogs for 11 days in June 2015, while my family was on vacation. We had not used her before and were nervous about leaving them with a stranger. I studied feedback from previous customers before our trip, and decided to trust her on the basis of the many positive reviews I encountered. I was right to trust Pam with our dogs. The morning after I left our dogs with Pam, I received pictures and a text message to let me know that they were doing well. She observed that our older dog (a timid coonhound) did not have much of an appetite, and patiently found a way to earn the dog's trust. Both dogs quickly reached 'normal' and ate their meals when served. I received several additional text messages and e-mails from Pam during our vacation, which my family enjoyed. They eased our worry and enabled us to enjoy our time away.

Pam walked the dogs at least twice daily, and was very careful about their interactions with other dogs. I recommend Pam very highly, based on my positive experience with her.
Immediately upon my first discussion with Pam, I knew Baxter was in good hands. She was available to take in Baxter at the very last minute. She asked a lot of questions and also made it easy for me to pick him up after work the following day. He had a yard to play in and got a long well with her dog as well. Thank you Pam.
Pamela was great! From the very beginning Pam was very responsive and a joy to talk to. She got to know our dalmatian's needs, his feeding schedule, his temperament, etc before his stay.
Pamela sent numerous pictures and updates so I could be worry free on vacation. She took him on hikes, to the park, and hung out with him in the beautiful backyard at her house.
I do believe he was very well cared for and came home nice and tired from a long weekend full of fun and relaxation.

Will definitely be thinking of Pam to watch our Farley on our next vacation!
Pam was very affectionate to our corgi, Joey, and he came back a happy dog. She was able to accommodate us last-minute at our request, and Joey made himself right at home. We will be back and would recommend to others.
My pup Pippi's first DogVacay experience was with Pam J this past weekend and I was extremely pleased.

Pam is a very knowledgeable, responsible, and reliable person. From the Meet and Greet to the pick up and drop off, Pam's communication was always prompt and professional making it evident to me from the start that she had my pup's (and my) best interests in mind.

I loved receiving picture texts of her romping on the hillside, making her way through the doggie-door, and cuddling up with Pam's daughters. I'm a bit of a helicopter-pet-mom and these texts really put my mind at ease.

When I picked up Pip at the end of her stay, I was pretty surprised that she didn't seem too thrilled to see me and be yanked from her 'home away from home' but realize that was the best case scenario I could have asked for.

Thank you so much Pam, and we hope to see you again soon!
Our dogs seemed well taken care of and were in good spirits when I picked them up at the end of their stay. Pam took them on a couple of outings while they were with her.
Frankie had a wonderful stay with Pam! We received pictures from early morning walks and Frankie was relaxed and happy when we picked her up. Thanks so much, Pam!
I called Pam the day before a 30 day stay. I visited her house and she met Bear and we decided it was a great fit. Bear wS well cared for and had a blast with the other visiting dogs and the open space and hiking trails. I a, so thankful I found Pam, she took excellent care of bear and went above and beyond and sent photos and updates every 2 days. I am lucky to have found her and I look forward to sending Bear over to her for more stays In the future
Our dogs love visiting Pam and her daughter. There are lots of belly rubs and walks. Plus, Pam sends pictures so we know how happy everyone is. Thank you, Pam! We'll see you again soon.
Our dogs spent the day with Pam, her daughter and a young nephew. They came home happy and content after a full day of belly rubs. I loved receiving the pictures Pam sent via my cell phone, documenting their adventures.
We were extremely happy that our dog Cooper spent the weekend with Pam. She clearly knows what she is doing and takes caring for dogs very seriously. Plus, she has a lot of fun. She sent us updates and pictures every day. We will definitely be calling her again. Thank you!!
Pam took wonderful care of Moglie. She sent us daily pictures of him eating, sleeping and on daily hikes.

Pam is really great with dogs and is a pleasure to work with! We are planning on our next trip soon and I'm sure Moglie can't wait to stay with Pam again!

Thanks Pam!!

Pam was able to accommodate our last minute request to watch our dog for a few days. We literally emailed her the day of the start of the reservation. We forgot to bring our dog's crate that she sometimes sleeps in, but Pam didn't even ask about one. Apparently our dog, Gracie, got to sleep with one of the kids in their bed, which is her favorite thing to do!
The house has a big yard and a doggie door to the house so the dogs go in and out at their leisure. Pam took Gracie to the dog park and sent pictures and updates to us each day. I would recommend using Pam. Great price, too.
I recently moved to the bay area with my two dogs to start a new job. After about a month I needed a place to keep them for two weeks so I could fly back east and bring the rest of my family out. Pam was really great with the boys. They really liked her and got along well with her dog, Tina. Pam went the extra mile and sent us pictures of the boys playing and going for walks. It helped put us at ease as this was the longest we've ever been away from them.
This is a looooong overdue review for Scrappy's stay with Pam and her family. We had to book a last minute reservation back in October. Pam, Tina the dog, and the resident cat were all very accommodating and very sweet. I could tell that Scrappy would be (and was) in very capable hands with Pam the moment we met. Pam has a sixth sense about dogs and was just truly wonderful with Scrappy. He had a great time and we wouldn't hesitate to book with Pam in the future!
