I am a dedicated stay-at-home doggie mom and my full-time job is taking care of my bundle of joy Simba... I would love to take care of your baby too.
Not far from the Hoboken waterfront, with Church Square Dog Park two blocks away and a private backyard, our spacious two-bedroom home is a puppy paradise! On a peaceful block on park Avenue in Hoboken, our home is on street level, which means no stairs for older dogs and young puppies. Pier A and Pier C Park are both frequented by our guests being just five minutes away.
We are conveniently located in downtown, three blocks from the bus stop on Washington Street and less than a 10 minute walk from the PATH/ Light Rail as well as our preferred veterinary clinic, The Animal Infirmary of Hoboken. If you ever needed to extend your vacation and worried about running out of your baby's food or treats, we are flanked by pet stores, Beowoof and Hoboken Pet, all just a few blocks away. We couldn't have asked for a better location!
WHAT SETS ME APART
Since I am available 24*7, there will be no dearth of attention and care for your beloved pooch. Be it giving medication, taking 4-5 walks a day, feeding multiple times or just spoiling your baby plenty with hugs and kisses... I am there 24*7 to do it all! I am very particular about time and am responsible when it comes to your pooch's routines, bath or medication.
Why pay a dog walker to walk your dog by the hour once or twice a day when your dog can get four to five walks a day and plenty of play time in a safe private yard, a family to love and a dog for company all day! I do not leave the dogs alone to socialize and such. My guests are like my babies. I ensure that they are fed on time and walked on time, which means I am available to take care of them always.
Also, I am highly flexible with pick-up and drop-off times, having had people pick up their pet as late as 1:30 am. Cancellations and changes are not a problem at all. I understand sometimes circumstances demand changes and I have no issues with last minute cancellations or changes.
The most important pro of all is the fact that I am a genuine dog lover! I love all dogs, big or small, furry or non-furry, just like they are my own babies. I understand their needs and go above and beyond to make them comfortable. I believe that's what makes me trustworthy when it comes to your beloved pup. I don’t charge extra for a cuddle or a walk or for giving your baby medication and treats. I do not let a dog go hungry ever. I take extra care to ensure that they eat their meals, going as far as to feeding them from my hands. Your pup will get everything he gets at home and more as long as he vacations with me.
WHAT I OFFER
A typical day at Hoboken Doggie Haven starts with a little playtime in the yard and then breakfast. I can feed you dog as per his/her routine too. All dogs are generally fed simultaneously as I watch over them so they don't get into each other's bowls. We then go back to the yard to play fetch and just roll around in the grass! The yard is where we have the most fun (weather permitting)! We can play as long as we want and as many times in the day as we wish to. Sometimes, the doggies and I hang out in the yard for hours, as I read my books or catch-up with neighbors. :)
Most pet-sitters do not believe in walking the dogs because of liability issues. Not me. I believe that walks are very important to a dog's health and well being and it gives them mental stimulation as well. Just playing in the yard will not suffice on any given day. Simba and I generally go out four-five times a day... take two walks a day and spend the rest of the time in the yard. We would love for your pooch to join us in our daily adventures. I believe that a well-exercised dog is a happy, healthy and well-balanced dog. So, exercise and walks are very important when you board your dog with me.
We are particular about every dog's routine. So meal-times are followed strictly. I am very responsible when it comes to every pooch's individual needs.
I do not crate the babies, nor do I leave them for long periods of time, except to run errands. We are literally there 24*7 for your lil baby as long as he/she lives with us. When we leave them, they are not confined in any room. They live like they would in their own home.
We love to share multiple updates everyday via pictures and videos on Picasa, Instagram and by email as well as SMS. I stay constantly in touch with you going as far as to send updates every two hours sometimes. You can also Skype with your dog if you wish to. :)
Also, we have a high-end puppy cam installed in our apartment for when we need to run errands or get dinner. The camera can be accessed on our mobile devices and laptops from anywhere. We can even talk through the camera, if we need to calm them down or just let them know we are around! So we are literally with our furry-guests all the time!
Our home is smoke-free and we use only steam to clean our floors. No harsh chemicals are used to make our home as fur-friendly as possible. We have plenty of beds and blankets to make sure our furry guests are more than comfortable!
Simba is a super friendly, furry and adorable two-year-old Miniature Poodle who is full of energy and loves to play 24*7 with man and dog alike! I am yet to come across a dog that hasn't taken to Simba's positive vibes and wanted to play with him all day! Even the most unsocialized ones take to him... he has a knack of making every pooch fall in love with him.
Simba doesn't mind sharing his bed and toys and even his Mommy as well as Dadda with everyone. He takes his job as a host seriously and keeps all his guests occupied, unless they want to be left alone. But he does make it a point to check on everyone and give them kisses. :) No place is out of bounds as long as you live with him. My husband, Manish and I love him like a baby and your little bundle of joy will be treated the same.
Clean paws, baths and grooming are mandatory in our house. I keep all dogs squeaky clean as long as they are with me — especially after their daily long walks and play sessions — by cleaning their paws, spraying some spritz and grooming them. I also give them baths if required. A clean dog is a happy dog after all! :) All dogs who board with us must be neutered and up to date on vaccinations. I charge $10 extra for puppies under the age of one and dogs that are not house-trained and/or use wee-wee pads. I also charge $5 extra for any special requests or for an older dog with special needs.
I volunteer at the ASPCA, NY and the Animal Care and Control of New York City as a dog companion and adoptions counselor. I have over 11 years of experience taking care of shelter dogs — large and small breeds — across the world. I have also over seven years of experience fostering blind and deaf dogs, older dogs that need extra attention and dogs with special needs (those without limbs, with infections and injuries). I am currently caring for a 15-year-old Pug who has lost use of his hind legs and has no bladder control and requires stimulation to go to the bathroom. I watch him every week regularly. In addition to that, I am also looking after a 12-year-old poodle mix that is blind and has bladder issues. I have experience working with dogs with behavior issues such as aggressiveness towards bikers, runners etc. or separation anxiety, shyness, among many others. I can work on those issues while your pet boards with me.
Owing to limitations of my home, I only accept small dogs. I only board three dogs at a time so that the pooches get enough attention and care, as well as space in the house.
Our family of three looks forward to spending some spiffing time with your baby!
*Warning: Your pooch may not want to go home!
**Overnight boarding rates are for a 24 hour period. If you'd like to pick-up your baby beyond that time frame into extra hours or late night hours, I charge daycare fee for the extra hours @ $35 for 12 hours and $25 for 6 hours.
Please mention the pick-up and drop-off timings in the reservation request and I will gladly work out a Custom Quote for you depending on your needs. I charge $10 extra for any last-minute/emergency requests and for reservations overlapping Holidays and Holiday Weekends. I also provide pick-up and drop-off service (not on a daily/recurring basis) outside Hoboken for $20 one way within a distance of 10 miles.
