About Deborah

5 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
I work from home most of the time so your pups will get plenty of attention.
I love to take dogs hiking.

I have worked for pet sitting agencies before and first started as a teenager for family friends. I also have experience as a dog foster mom for Dogs Without Borders, a non profit dog rescue group.
References available.

Please note that I do not require a "meet and greet" before being booked, a phone call to discuss your pets needs is sufficient for me. Dogs must be friendly towards dogs and humans of course.

Deborah was a great host! She was very accommodating and sent regular picture updates. My dog, Viola, came back very happy and had clearly gotten lots of love, exercise and playtime. Ideal!
This was my first time leaving Irish with a stranger. My dog is very outgoing and friendly so I'm sure I was the only anxious one! But after meeting Deborah and her dog, my nerves were immediately at ease. Deborah's dog was sweet and gentle and Deborah showed a genuine interest in and care for my dog. She also posted a picture for me through DogVacay; Irish looked as happy as ever. I picked up Irish this morning and she hasn't missed a beat. I would definitely recommend Deborah and would book her again.

The drop off/pick up with Deborah for the time that our dogs stayed with her was OK (although she may need to get a new phone as we would call and text and not always hear back from her promptly due to what she called a "glitchy" iPhone). The big problem was that upon picking up our two Dachshunds from her they were COVERED in fleas and both panting and scratching excessively. We noticed this when we got them home from their stay with her. I can understand the dogs picking up a few fleas but we pulled off at least 40 of them and had to reapply Frontline to them and give them a flea bath immediately when we got home. Both of them were also covered in bites and obviously had been for some time. They are both still scratching and acting very lethargic due to being bitten so much and one still isn't eating since we picked them up yesterday.
Deborah had to have noticed this as they were instantly biting my wife and I too. We had to wash all of the dogs blankets and remove the fleas all over our couch. It was a very bad way to end a vacation.
Deborah blamed it on her cat that may have brought them into her apartment where they stayed. I am not sure about the environment as we did not get to see the interior of her apartment as she met us outside of her building upon drop off and pick up. I have never seen this many fleas on my dogs ever. It was disgusting.
The dogs spent most of last night/early morning whining about the biting and they have scratched themselves raw. I have never had anything like this happen with other pet sitters. I have pictures of the bites on my dogs if needed.
I'm very unhappy with this and the irritation it has brought my pups. I will definitely not be using her again.
