About Amanda

5 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
I'm happy to have your little one in my home while you are away...I know how stressful and worrisome it is to leave your babies when you leave town. I have used Dogvacay many times and have always been more than satisfied. For that reason and more, I want to extend much love and care to you and your family. I work from home and am able to give your loved one all the attention and care he/she needs. I have a dog of my own, Foxie, she is almost 5 years and we, along with my husband who is experienced training & loving dogs as well, welcome you!

I have volunteered with Best Friends and NKLA (4 years) in California, receiving dog training and have experience handling and giving care to rescues. I am a lover of all animals and see DogVacay as an excellent opportunity to begin a career caring for our four legged friends! Since joining a couple of months ago, my experience has grown even more and I am confident in my ability to read and give the individual care that your dear one needs.

Please note: I will take only one dog per booking unless you have two in your household for which you need care. If only one dog, I will mark myself as unavailable upon your booking, as I feel it is less stressful for my dog and yours. Brothers and sisters always seem to work fine (2 total), so that is not an issue. Feel free to message me with any questions!

One more item to note: We will be moving from Hawthorne Blvd. within the next month, so my availability is a bit scattered and I may not be able to do meet and greets or bookings depending on the move from mid June through July 1, 2016. I will keep my calendar and info updated as often as possible!

Looking forward to seeing you and your pup(s)!! XO

Amanda is the best pet sitter I have ever had! She is super accommodating and gives daily updates- I appreciated it so much! Maggie loves Amanda and Foxie- she is excited to visit everytime! Thanks!!!!
Amanda was awesome! My pup was so relaxed and happy when she came home...much different than her attitude usually is after being in a kennel. Amanda kept me updated with photos and stories and was super flexible with drop off and pick up. Even when my pup was a little anxious, Amanda made sure she was alright. I would book again with her in a heartbeat!

I could not be more thrilled with the level of service Amanda provided. I was so worried to leave my baby but she went above and beyond to ease my worries.

She is professional and obviously a lover of all living creatures. I could not think of a better person to leave my baby with!! Would book again any time!!!

Amanda is great! My dogs always arrive home seeming like themselves. It's great to know that I have somewhere to take my dogs where they are relaxed and happy.
Amanda is wonderful and sent me lots of pics! Foxie and Maggie got along great- hopefully they can hang out again! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Amanda was patient with my dog Dinah who has separation anxiety. Dinah spent a lot of time staying near the door and waiting for me to return. Amanda was kind and did not take this personally.
Amanda took amazing care of my sweet girl while I was away! I felt comfortable leaving her (which is difficult for me to do) and Amanda kept me "in the loop" with pictures and text messages. I appreciated her kindness and caring nature towards my pup! Would highly recommend her! Thanks, Amanda!

Amanda is absolutely wonderful! She was so easy going and flexible during the reservation process. We had a previous sitter that had to cancel and Amanda took our overnight boarding reservation with only a few days notice. She was super fast at responding to my messages too.

We haven't had to board our dog Thor in a few years and with moving across the country recently, I think he gets nervous when he sees us packing our bags. Amanda was so great about giving us updates about how Thor was doing and sending us pictures of him. He seemed to settle in easily with her and Foxie. Even when we picked Thor up and took him home, he was so much more relaxed and calm than what we expected him to be. My husband and I even joked that we should take him to stay with Amanda on a regular basis because he was so calm.

I'm totally confident that Thor was well taken care of and we will definitely be booking with Amanda in the future!

Amanda was awesome. She was so sweet and kind and fell in love with Jazz right away. I was so relieved to find someone to watch Jazz at the last minute but now am just so happy to have found a long-term, repeat sitter for my pup. Amanda is the best!
Right away when I started to communicate with Amanda I got a good feeling. She was very flexible with scheduling the meet and greet and then even the drop off and pick up times once we were booked. At the meet and greet I could see she took great pride in caring for her guest pets as well as making the pet's people (me) feel reassured about the commitment she has for making both of my dogs' experience least disruptive to their regular routine, and in fact a fun experience. These thoughts I had were reinforced by the questionnaire Amanda had me complete that made me aware that she tries to keep the routine the same for her guests as they would when at home. Her home is spacious and cozy which is fortunate because my dogs enjoy soft and cozy surroundings.
During my time away, I received countless photos and messages keeping me updated on how my 2 dogs were adjusting. Pictures say a thousand words and I felt so relieved to see they were happy and enjoying their time with Amanda, Rob and Foxie (the small and adorable guest dog) who made them feel quite at home I could tell from the photos.
My dogs I can say were happy to be at Amanda's and I know that I will be reaching out to her next time I need a host for my dogs.

Amanda is a sincere animal lover. She is so kind and treated Samson like he was her own right off the bat. He warmed up to Amanda immediately. Her house is great too - very clean and big enough to keep a large dog. She even has an outdoor area.

Amanda took my reservation last minute (I was visiting Portland and it's a long story) and made a stressful situation much easier for me. My pup has a heart problem and she gave him his pills and meals on time no problem. She works from home so could give him plenty of attention. She put me at ease and even texted me pictures that made me smile and gave me peace of mind. Samson really enjoyed playing with her little pup Foxy too. :)

I highly recommend Amanda for a DogVacay. She is honest, inviting, and very responsive. I will definitely use her again the next time I am visiting Portland.
