Hi, my name is Donna and I have had dogs in my life since I was 8 years old. Most times I had 2 dogs with breeds ranging from Huskies, Shepherd/St. Bernard mix, and Rottweilers, to rescue fosters of Labs, and Pitt crosses. Our current dog, Portilla, was rescued from Dominican Republic by me in June. I work with a rescue group and help where I can with fostering. I also spend time at Pooch Palace in Uxbridge where I take dogs for a few hours to socialize and exercise.
Our home is small and cozy and there is always someone here as I work from home.
A typical day starts early with my partner letting pups out and feeding them. I wonder down mid morning and they are out again while I have coffee. We take a nice neighbourhood walk and then quiet time while I do some work. I am always available for hugs and rubs which happens often.
Portilla loves to play and has toys and ropes for fun. An afternoon walk in Elgin Park is followed by a visit to Pooch Palace to see my friend Penny and let the dogs run and socialize in her large yard.
Home for dinner and they are usually pooped out by then. An evening walk and several yard visits before bed. Couch or dog beds for sleeping.
There are treats and kongs filled with goodies as per instructions.
While our yard is small and really best used for doggy "business", there is a small park across the street from us and as we are right in town, the dogs have neighbourhood walks instead of just time in a yard.
