Lola (my lovable canine companion) and I would love to make our home and services available to any any dog owners in need of some help. I grew-up with dogs and have extensive experience with dog sitting and cat sitting and have boarded a variety of breeds, both large and small, and ages. I also have experience with rescue dogs and Lola is a rescue dog herself.
I know that time apart can be stressful for both the pet and owner and my goal is to ensure that your dog enjoys their stay. I will maintain any schedules or preferences that you have and make sure that your dog gets extra love and attention while you are apart.
My apartment is not large but it is dog-friendly and I have a steady supply of toys and treats. My dog is a high-energy dog, so there will be several outtings throughout the day. I work 4-5 hours a day and take Lola on at least 2 short walks (15 min), one in the morning and one in evening, and one long walk (30-40 min) a day. Several times a week we go to the dog park (the one near Hudson Trail) and once in a while we go hiking. I do prefer to crate the dogs when I am not there but I make sure that they are not in there for more than 5 hours and dog-crating is negotiable.
One of the best things about choosing Happy Paws Boarding is Lola. She loves meeting and playing with new dogs/puppies but is also really good with older dogs. I have boarded several dogs who do not like other dogs and she did great with them as well, always knowing when to give them space and when they did not want to play. While your dog stays here, he or she will never be alone and might even leave with a new doggie best-friend.
