About Marie

20 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
I would welcome the opportunity to get to know and care for your dog in a loving, positive and attentive environment. Dogs have been my passion since my early childhood. As a child, I begged my parents for a dog for years (sound familiar?). Being responsible animal people, my parents curtailed my urges until I was old enough to understand the responsibility of caring for another living being.

Since then I have developed a pet care philosophy that highlights positive reinforcement, exercise, mental stimulation, physical touch and a safe environment for the well being of the animal (and human). In my adult life, I have had the pleasure of raising, training and having a memorable relationship with Sergei, (a Border Collie/ Jindu / Curly Coat mix) and Hans (a Springer Spaniel). Two dogs with very different personalities, whom I loved dearly. I have a Masters degree in Zoology, therefore I am quite familiar with animal behavior. Your dog(s) would be welcome at my home and given attention and love while you are away.

Dogs have free range throughout my house and have 24/7 access via a dog door to the back yard. My yard is securely fenced in and mostly grass. Inside my home, dogs can roam around and are welcome to cuddle on the couch with me or hang in the kitchen while I cook. Currently, I do not have pets, therefore I can take in dogs who do not feel comfortable around other animals, and/or who want a lot of individual attention. I am a part time, returning adult graduate student and have a lot of home time to spend with your dog.

A typical day would include morning, afternoon and evening exercise and play, as your dog tolerates and needs. Napping and cuddling is also welcomed. I will honor the schedule and feeding regimen you provide for your dog. Initial "meet and greets" are a requirement to determine compatibility.

Marie took great care of our spoiled rotten dog! She sent daily updates and pictures and clearly gave her lots of affection. We will use her again.
My pup just loved Marie, it is clear that she is amazing with animals and I will be coming back another time! Thank you, Marie :)
Marie was a wonderful sitter for our dog, Rain. She gave us photo updates every day to make sure Rain was doing okay while we were out of town. She is very kind and patient and I know Rain had a blast with her!
This was my first time using a sitter from DogVacay and I am so happy with this experience. My dog Kade came home tired and Marie sent me pictures of him throughout the day! thank you so much Marie, I can tell Kade enjoyed himself!
For the first time, I left my dogs, Willow and Emma, with a sitter overnight. Marie was an outstanding choice! We met for a "meet and greet" time beforehand, which helped ease any uncertainty about leaving my pups in a new place. She was attentive, kind, and very loving with them; they immediately felt right at home with the doggie door. In addition, Marie sent photos each day with written comments on how they were doing and had all the doggie supplies packed and ready to go in time for pick up. She went over and above my expectations. DogVacay came through with flying colors!

Marie took such good care of Willie! He was able to get all the attention he needed and exercise, as they went on walks everyday. I would highly recommend Marie and won't hesitate to call her the next time we need dog sitting.
Our experience with Marie was excellent. Marie is very kind, caring and conscientious. Pepper was very well taken care of and very happy upon pick up .
Marie made sure to check in daily with photos and comments regarding daily activities. I feel very grateful and relaxed to know that there is no hesitation on who I will choose to take care of Pepper when the occasion arises.
Thanks Marie :)
