I've been the owner of a dog for the past 5 years, as well as of a cat for over 10 years, which allowed me to gain experience. I as well have experience taking care of other people's pets while they were away. I have a pug at home, so I understand that some animals and some particular breeds need more attention and special care than others, for example, because of breathing difficulties, etc. I live in a big apartment, and I have a big balcony and a big yard. Usually I start the day by taking out the dog, always at the same hour, for a 30mins walk. Then I feed him and the cat, and give fresh water and treats. I then give them some free time with their toys. Around 3PM, I let the dog in the yard while I take coffee on the balcony, always under my supervision, 15-30mins. The second walk is after supper, for another 30mins. Then I feed the dog and change the water of both the cat and the dog, with treats. At night, they like watching TV together, especially if I take out a fluffy blanket. Once a week, I bring the dog to Mount-Royal for a 1H long walks and once a week I bring him to the dog park as he is very shy and don’t really interact or care about other dogs. I do not do any exercise like jogging with the dog outside as it’s a pug and they have breathing problems and short legs and it’s strongly not recommended. For the same reason, we use an expensive weight control food. The treats are teeth caring ones, so that the dog doesn’t develop tartar. We allow our pets on the couches, so the only room that is always closed is the bedroom. They as well sleep on the couches.
