About Shelly

40 Years Experience Caring For Dogs
Family fun and dog friendly living for small dogs!

I am a dog lover who has worked rescue for the last 6 years. I have experience and am comfortable with most medical situations and am set up for dogs who require wheelchairs and seniors who have difficulties with mobility. When I am not home, each fur baby is kept separate to ensure their safety.

When the weather is nice, we spend a lot of time playing in the back yard together. If the weather is not so nice, I have a shelter over the back door which allows the dogs the ability to do their business outside without getting wet. Pee pads are available at all times.

Each camper will have private walks, playtime, and snuggles in addition to spending time with the rest of the pack. Please send along their blanket or bedding so they have something that smells of home. If your fur baby has separation anxiety, I ask that you bring along an old unwashed T-shirt or pillow case that they can have it to snuggle with to ease their anxiety.

All fur friends will be allowed to sleep in my bedroom and on my bed if they are used to that at home.

No extra charge for giving medication that is prescribed by a vet.

Fur friends who stay 7 days or more will be offered a complimentary bath so they are sweet smelling when you return!

Complimentary texts or emails and pictures daily so you can check in on how things are going each day.

All campers will need to bring shot records, feeding schedule, special food, medications, a collar or harness with ID tags, favorite toys and comfort items, your contact information as well as a written/typed feeding and medication schedule.

Medical needs: I accept dogs who require their bladder expressed, daily injections, pills, liquids, eye drops, soaking pads, ear care, medicated shampoo baths and probably more, just ask!

I also have experience and will accept dogs who are blind, deaf, elderly, etc. No problem!

We look forward to your fur-baby joining us for a night or more of family fun in a dog friendly environment!

Ask me about long term stays over 14 nights!

Drop offs and pick ups during the week typically need to be 4:00 to 7:00. Flexible times during the weekends and holidays.

Our 7 month old puppy spent 9 days with Shelly and appeared to be completely comfortable. He came back to us happy and healthy. We were out of the country in Central America so we went into this knowing that communication would be an issue but we were able to receive emails and pictures of our dog when we had wi-fi available to us, which was very nice.

Shelly took excellent care of my little dog while I was away for a week. Her home is totally set up for the well-being, safety, and comfort for her doggie guests. She sent me pictures and a video of my dog and wrote messages about details of how she was eating, sleeping, and adjusting. Shelly also gave my dog a bath and washed her blanket on pick up day. I felt that Shelly was very conscientious in making sure my dog was well taken care of and comfortable while in her home. I would definitely recommend Shelly to other small dog owners.

First, Shelly's web page was very impressive with notes about handling medical needs and sleeping options. Next our visit convinced us that she would be a good match for Millie. She sent us updates and photos continuously throughout her stay which made us smile and be relaxed about her stay. She made adjustments to match our requests as well. Strong recommendation for others

Shelly had a real dog-friendly house and yard. When we got there she put her dogs outside for an hour or more so my dog could sniff out the house and get familiar. She let Duke sleep in her room and let him find a favorite spot on the couch - which he likes to do at home. The dogs had a nice balance of activity and hanging out. She obviously loves dogs!! I really enjoyed the pictures she sent while I was gone. They're nice to see when you are missing your 'pet'!! I will definitely book with Shelly again next time we go out of town!!

Shelly obviously loves dogs, so Barney felt welcomed and comfortable there immediately. He's a rescue dog, so he suffers from separation anxiety, but he didn't seem to be lonely at all while we were gone. In fact, went I went to pick him up, I think he wanted to stay! Thanks again!

Shelly is a great host and it is very easy to tell she is a dog person. She helped with a last minute reservation for my dog. She was very easy to work with for arranging times and excellent communication. I received a lot of updates while I was on vacation which I appreciated. I would definitely book with her again and recommend her to my friends.
